WT190 I just had to put the belt back on. Similar to this video but more screws to loosen. 6 at the very back end plus 3 on each side in the front. Same 4 for the tension but nowhere to use a screwdriver to take up the slack. I used a piece of nylon string. Made a loop and put it above the trimmer strings and used a pry bar to tension it. It's back in service.

What about when the chipper is showing the message "rpm sensor" and is brand new (recent replacement)? What else can I review?
@CraryBearCat Жыл бұрын
When at idle the chipper will read "RPM's not met" until the sensor reads the appropriate RPM to allow the forward feed. Also keep in mind when replacing the sensor it should be within .03" clearance between the face of the sensor and the target upon which it reads. Thanks for watching!

Dumb question, but what if you put it on a tractor with horsepower over the recommended rating? Say, 100+?
@CraryBearCat Жыл бұрын
The CH9540's horsepower limitation is rated upon the load capacity of the belt/pulley. In the case of the CH9540 the maximum horsepower capacity of the belt/pulley is 60 HP. Running the unit on a tractor beyond the rated HP capacity will cause the belt to slip due to overpowering and void warranty. We would recommend the CH9540HP which is designed for tractors rated up to 100HP at the PTO. The CH9540HP is equipped with a larger belt/pulley and related components to handle the higher HP PTO tractors.

What is the current price? Are these any different from the same model 10 years ago?
@CraryBearCat Жыл бұрын
Hi Waya Wolf, The design of the CH5540 is relatively unchanged from 10 years ago, however the PTO shaft has been updated to a 6 spline "quick connect" and has improvements to the discharge chute locking mechanism. For current pricing, check with your local dealer: www.bearcatproducts.com/find-a-dealer/ or check out the CH5540 online: www.bearcatproducts.com/cbc/products/pto-machines/ch5540/ Thanks for watching!

my chute is bouncing while driving
@CraryBearCat3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mikey, thanks for reaching out! To help minimize bouncing in transport, we suggest rotating the chute so that it is pointing back toward the tow vehicle. Check to make sure your bolts are tightened too and that the chute is greased properly to help with rotation. If you regularly need to transport your machine over bumpy terrain, the chute can be removed as needed and will fit in the back of a standard pickup bed. If you notice excessive wear on your chute anchors, reach out to your local dealer to help locate any potential replacement parts. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for choosing Crary Bear Cat!

I have an older 70080, and it works great, but wondered if it has a discharge adapter. The low one on these types fills up much too fast.
@CraryBearCat3 жыл бұрын
Hello fotjamez, Unfortunately we do not have a blower system that will directly fit on your 70080 chipper shredder. Your unit was built from 1991 until 2004. However we do offer a 70251 (One Speed Blower Kit) for newer model 8hp and up 3” chipper shredders. You 70080 machine would require two holes to be drilled in the debris screen base to accommodate the blower housings mount point. This could be done if you choose to. For more information please contact the Bear Cat dealer nearest you by using our dealer locator found on our website @ www.bearcatproducts.com/find-a-dealer/ Thanks!

How do you remove the wheel to replace it on one of these?
@CraryBearCat3 жыл бұрын
Hello Jason, To remove the wheel you will need to remove the pushnut. The teeth formed in the capped head of the push nut allow the nut to be pressed linearly onto the axle, but prevent the nut from sliding back off the axle. You can grab opposite sides of that push-on retainer and squeeze to bow it a bit, then try to twist off. Keep in mind a pushnut is considered a one time use and will need to be replaced. Thanks!

I'm probably gonna get one of these rigs soon. in the future. Im sure it has its limits just like any small chipper with this design. Small branches only, and they need to be prepared thoroughly. I just need something small to keep in my truck. One of my customers bought the harbor freight 3 inch chipper and I ran it for like 20 hours before the exhaust can cracked. After returning that unit they bought a DK power king with the 13 horsepower Kohler engine and 5 inch capacity. That machine is like a whole nother world. I've put a good 30-40 hours on it now and its running very well and taking the punishment on larger branches. The rotating drum design or whatever u wanna call it seems to be a lot better(and much easier to unjam) than the chipping knife design but its less compact. Anyways id like to get the little bear cat chipper because I have echo stuff and it treats me good. I'm not really fond of harbor freight garbage unless its a flashlight or a tarp.

@erik e, get anouther unit. poor hoper design and exit of material. I have to cut branches so small just to feed in the sc3208, and i still need to use a push stick. Dont put all your faith in the echo name, like i did.

I like this---what oil does this use?
@craryag4 жыл бұрын
We recommend the use of Briggs & Stratton Warranty Certified oils for best performance. Other high-quality detergent oils are acceptable if classified for service SF,SG,SH,SJ or higher. Do not use special additives. Outdoor temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for the engine. Engines on most outdoor power equipment operate well with 5W-30 Synthetic oil. For equipment operated in hot temperatures, Vanguard™ 15W-50 Synthetic oil provides the best protection.
