While it isn’t the best performance I’ve ever seen, it’s sweet, I’m sure the effort was there :) I really wish our Godspell production wasn’t cancelled for covid, it was shaping up to be a great show. That young woman who is playing Babette was FANTASTIC. Her accent, body language and physical comedy was just flawless. I've seen the show on Broadway and the National Tour and never saw a Babette that invested. Brava!

This lady is amazing. What is she doing now? I hope she's still involved in musical theatre.

Kerry and Matthew is such a nice surprise.

It never crosses anyone's mind to give Kerry Butler the mic or even hold it near her. This suggests that before the performance Kerry said, "nah, I'm good. What the hell would I need a microphone for???" (This is after a performance of DISASTER! and Kerry is still in costume and make-up for that show so maybe she is still wearing a mic, but it sure doesn't sound that way.)

does anybody know why Kerry is acting a bit weird? or is that just part of the act?

I realize this is a High School production and now-days you have to be extra careful about things, but this version had a "hurry up and lets get this over" feel to it. The song should be a little more playful. 20 years ago I worked on a community theater production of "Godspell" where the actress that sang this song was an 18 year old High School Senior. The group is a family friendly theater group so this song wasn't as naughty or "seductive" as it could be. There was one run of the song, I think it was a regular performance, but could have been just a rehearsal, during one of the 2nd verse teasing adlib bits the audience member she sat in the lap of was her actual dad. It was a chuckle for the cast and crew, so it might have just been during a rehearsal, but I tend to think it was a performance. I think as she got up off his lap she added "see ya daddy".
