You cant see it in this vid but at 48:49 hes driving down veterans blvd, where we have huge canals dividing the road. You can't see those canals as hes driving because theyve already breached and are actively engulfing the road. Also, understand that we already live below sea level. We have the Mississippi river a stones throw in one direction, lake ponchatrain in another and massive canals EVERYWHERE. Where he was driving was all marshland before Metairie city was built.

Wow! I'm a newish storm chaser from the Madison area still looking for my first tornado, saw multiple funnel clouds between Cottage Grove and Marshall yesterday. There was so much vorticity near the surface that even showers were rotating. I'm so glad to see someone captured the tornadoes on video!

It seems like there has been an extreme amount of Tornado's all over the US this spring/summer so far, is it more than usual or does it just seem that way because there are a lot more storm chasers with cameras than before?
@dragonridleyКүн бұрын
We have had an above-average number of tornadoes this spring.

Awesome catch!! 🌪️ Thought it was odd for there to be a tornado warning posted this afternoon when we were outside the area of concern. Also figured it was too cool out & too much lake breeze. Guess there was plenty enough shear to get things spinning regardless. Neat!!

Who you kidding about Lake breeze? I LIVE by the lake! Within about 1 mile of the shoreline
@ikonseesmrno7300Күн бұрын
@@petermiller4953 Apparently you don't leave your house. I'm 12 miles inland from the lake & have experienced the lake breeze every afternoon for the last 46 years, provided it's warm enough for the breeze to come inland & the prevailing offshore winds aren't too strong. It's a common phenomena related to any large body of water. You may want to read up on weather basics.
