do you have (or even just know of) any other radio plays with Douglas Henshall? that info is Impossible to find
@sherlockholmesradioshow22 сағат бұрын
Douglas Henshall isn't in this one. IMDB says: "Douglas has also performed in plays for BBC radio, including the role of Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet (1999), David in "The Long Farewell" (2002), Jack Parlabane in "Bampot Central" (2004) and Richard in "Richard III" (2004)."

This play - KZbin was interupted 8 or 9 times by adverts and singularly inappropriate adverts at that.
@sherlockholmesradioshow13 күн бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that but that is being done by KZbin as the channel is not monetized. I have no control over that unfortunately.
@annedromeda985713 күн бұрын
@@sherlockholmesradioshow I do appreciate it's not you doing this, and I really do appreciate that you put these stories up for us to listen to, this morning I have been fascinated to listen to The Final Problem and The Empty House, to compare these adaptations with what Mark Gatiss did with them for Sherlock. Apart from the adverts 🙃🙂 a very pleasant interlude. Thank you.

Is this relatively accurate to the written story?
@sherlockholmesradioshow14 күн бұрын
I haven't read the book so can't answer that, but I would have thought so.
@tkmmkt656911 күн бұрын
@@sherlockholmesradioshow I read on wikipedia that actually it is considered more accurate than the film that was made.

The irony here is thick. Conan Doyle himself was a serious proponent of seances and spiritualism. Maybe he was being blackmailed too. Actually I believe he lost a son in WW1

That episode had a couple of poignant moments. Holmes reflecting on how much London has changed, that he doesn't feel he belongs there. Then there's that final scene...

Clive Merrison is perfect as Holmes, I used to listen the original stories on audiobook over 30 years ago. I always used to like falling asleep listening to them, I even took them on my honeymoon😂

Thanks a lot for uploading this production. I didn't enjoy the story, it feels rambling and dull until the climax. Simon Callow is pretty good as Holmes but the actor playing Watson is very poor. The inclusion of Professor Moriarty seems pointless, because he hasn't much to do. The tennis scene I'm sure could have been omitted.

That Welsh character was a bit fiery! Reminds me of my father. A good story overall, Andrew Sachs is an effective Dr. Watson.
