Great concept. Have you considered making an actual metal grab bar?

Yes, but worry too much on the extra stress on the door. I know..the left door has one, but I'm sure it was engineered for it. The strap put the pulling force in the exact same place as the small pull.

This is great. Maybe you can create a round handle like is on the left side that is above the right side control panel. I use the handle on the left door to mount my tablet, phone, and other items, but being mounted on the right would be much better. I have the JD tablet mount for the right already, but I much prefer a handle on the right door as it would put the tablet much farther forward in the cab. Maybe a handle that connects from the right hinge to the door latch somehow?

David, I'd love to, and I've thought lots about it, but honestly I'm nervous about door (glass) damage with adding a handle. It would probably be just fine, but if one door broke!

@curtcarter3945
@curtcarter3945 Жыл бұрын
Great Job Ken !! Got my right hand door kit today just watched this video so I'm going to install it now !! Everyone has been asking John Deere for years since the 20 series before the R line series !! In fact EVERY Tractor manufacture, with any sort of cab has both doors that stay open with a hydraulic shock and of course John Deere had to be different ! So what if it cost Deere an extra hundred dollars little things like that is where you stand above and beyond the rest don't think John Deere cares much anymore about the little guy ! Just like my 3039R brand new 2022 model and the loader leaks of so fast meaning if I'm hold a log with my hydraulic Grapple attachment, the loader is on the ground in less than 10 mins therefore yes I'm always in that right door lifting it back up using the hydraulics also for the mid mount mower I have when hooking it up you have to get in there and adjust the lift sometimes just a pain in the yep ! So I found out on the loaders for the hydraulic valve control under the cab is an outsourced Chinese valve, body with no O-rings, and almost every one of them now leak off !! The 4R are different and apparently they hold a lot better. Maybe it's a valve body made in the US that John Deere had to spend a little more money on ? In fact, my mower deck leaks off all the way to the ground in two minutes because yes, it goes through that third function through that same valve body ! I even took it to the dealership and they told me they replaced the valve body because they did the hydraulic leak down test and it didn't fall into the specs that John Deere excepted so they replaced it but it still does the same thing !! Here's something cool that a lot of people don't realize and I even called Summit hydraulic about this Kabota and bobcat. Use a hydraulic splitter valve to make your loader a self leveling loader by a flick of a switch in the cab. How cool is that so this valve body will split the flow between the lift cylinders and the tilt cylinders and make the lift level up and down and if you don't want to use that feature just shut the switch off !! Kubota Skid loaders have it ! My brothers bobcat has it ! For a tractor that cost $60,000 for three series and almost $100,000 for four series. When do you think you could afford a $500 hydraulic valve to make everyone's life easier if you're going to be doing loader work with the pallet forks like everyone does . As a matter of fact, Ken, another super cool feature I added to my 3039R is the swivel seat. You can call the manufacture up in Minnesota. They make all the swivel seats for every single tractor manufacture case IH, John Deere new Holland all of them you give them the seat number that is on the back of your seat in your tractor and they will send you that pacific swivel so it bolts right on it and for my tractor it only lifted the seat 1 inch higher, and since I have an air ride seat that was no problem at all !!

Would love to do this for a Mahindra 4550 Tractor with 72" bucket. Somewhat of an odd shape bucket at top with angles and essentially a "box" design with 1/8" steel. You can see the raised weld marks across entire back of bucket before going to single wall which may be 1/4" but I'd really like to keep the grab hooks at the top of the bucket instead of folding the bucket downwards to expose the grab hooks about 6" down the back of bucket.

Ken, I purchased one of these steps and I'm impressed with the quality of the item. Unfortunately I can't get it on my 1025R. I have spent over an hour trying to remove the bolts with no luck. I've tried WD-40 and penetrating oil using a 1/2" breaker bar with a pipe extender and also my impact wrench. Nothing is working. Is it a possibility they used left hand threaded bolts in 2015? I'd really like to get the step installed! Obviously mine are tighter than what I saw in your video here and the other youtube videos. Everyone seems to have bolts either pre loosened or very under torqued in their videos. Any ideas?

@@rogerhuber3133 hope you were able to get the bolts off. If not, have you thought about purchasing an impact wrench? I have an air tank and the air impact wrench is wonderful as I’m getting older and not as strong as I once was. I picked up one at a garage sale years ago or an auction. Lowes has them for about $160. Or if you have battery powered tools you can look at the line you have. Perhaps renting one will be easier on the wallet. The other idea would be to contact your dealer and tell them they mucked up and see if they will come out and get them off at no charge.
