Just an observation , do you need to top the diff up with oil after this job as you loose some oil when you strip it down ? and speaking as a driver, pet hate thing, keep the good wheel on the outside and the scabby one on the inside, but seeing as this a bin lorry these drivers dont give a toss, much like daily checks,. Good job that and great work ethic, cheers ,.

@ 64 and 30 years on the spanners behind me I can categorically confirm it's far easier breaking 'em than it is fixing' 'em. As you pointed out work is work and was never designed to be easy.

A heavy job, did one at Luton on one of your 24 plate CPD Econics,, pipe came loose in hopper and they used it till it run out of oil, easier to do than our own ones fitted to our DAF CF driven from timing case

Whilst Tucker Tim is entertaining at times, It will be interesting to see what the Traffic commissioner does to once the ongoing investigation is complete. The average trucker would be done for if they fitted illegal exhaust systems, smoke emitters, then posted numerous videos online using it on a public highway. He even showed them welding up the bypass valve just for an MOT, then grinding it straight back off after a pass.

I’m in the middle of doing my HGV class 1 I’m an HGV technician looking to get out of the trade , HGV technicians pay is very good in my area up to £30+hr ! But for a very good reason there is a shortage of engineers so workload is unreasonable

nice to see its not just our guys that don't wash off the lifters lol. i normally find on those omnidells the rave hinges are pushed forward, a specialist bit of kit (2ft pole i use a lemon tube from a tractor pto) between the hinge and top of the chair pushes the hinge back into the hopper ;).
