Awesome car and great video! Taking on a similar project myself . Nobody has videos of the ALH really going in/out so this is cool to see. Always good to see what i will be up against. Im going with S&P stuff as well. Man you would hate working on cars where i live in the winter. I had to replace a turbo,timing belt and all running gear on a mk4 ALH two winters ago because it was my only transportation and i had no other option. It was the coldest windyest week of the year. It was like being on Jupiter, just insane. There were times i broke down in hysterics like Chevy Chase in European vacation 😂 ✌️

@@Leesvw I’m guessing it came from your doner car. There should be a 3 letter code on the top part of the transmission. It’s like a small flat area 1”x2”. Then you can just google Vw tranny codes and you’ll find your transmission. Sounds like it was reving high on the freeway in your video.

Nice! Thanks for the closeup. You just had to buy some straight pipe and some 90 elbows to make the intake plumbing? Nice and easy! What coolant hoses did you use for your swap? Did you put a piece of rubber between the condenser and body? Any fears it will rub through?
@Leesvw

I bought turbo piping off Amazon and the elbows and such. I bought a coolant hose kit for a tdi from kerma tdi and just used what I needed. They are shaped close enough to use in this application. I did not put rubber between the body and condenser. It doesn’t move at all so I’m not really worried about it rubbing through. We will see. Btw. The car is back together and driving great. Sorry about the big setback. No oil pressure gauge? Where is that VW graveyard? I was working on a VW Rabbit and the cat came in and crapped on my hammer handle. I didn't notice and picked it up, hand full of warm cat crap. I thought the engine comes out the bottom on the Rabbit. Set the engine on the ground and there is a hole under the front engine mount to lift the body with an engine hoist. Pretty sure I have one of the skinny windshield washer reservoirs for that side. Might need to see if the brake fluid is leaking into the booster. Nice project. Wish I was there to help.
