Hi, so I saw a Wolf Spider and a beetle crawling around my living room on opposite sides of the house, then the next morning I saw the beetle, dried up and dead… is it far fetched to say that the wolf spider killed and “ate” it then left its corpse in my hallway?

You had one job... to catch the spider catching its prey, instead you start the video after it catches it, all the fun is watching it hunt.

I found this hefty female spider climbing on my parents house foundation 40 years ago. It was a rusty colored spider. This was located in Southbury CT. Spider was way larger than the other wolf spiders species. Such a thick cool spider species. Definitely a Carolina Wolf Spider Species.

So I know this is a super old video but I have what I am pretty sure is a Tigrosa Grandis Wolf Spider female. I believe she has an egg sac now as well I found attached to her in the enclosure I made for her after my husband caught her. She's my first Spider. I need to know what I should do and how I should take care of her especially if it really is an egg sac. How should I feed her etc? At this point and time I'm foraging for her from nature (mostly earth worms) & using woodland soil close to where she was found. I have not purchased anything like reptisoil. Thank you in advance. ❤

Care for the species is pretty straightforward. Even though it is a wolf spider, you can use any kind of caresheet for a basic tarantula species like a red knee or rose hair and it will be fine. If it is a small, marble-sized whitish-gray ball she's carrying around it's most likely an eggsac.

I just caught one of these a couple weeks ago. Any idea why he keeps covering the cap of water (I assume webbing) making it seem like it has a gelatinous top? Hard to explain..

I think they may just like the comfort? I don’t own any spiders, but exotics lair on yt has dozens and some just go crazy webbing up their water dish because they can.

I realize your video is 11 years old so I kind of doubt you'll get my message but it's worth a shot. How long did it take for your grass spider egg sacs to hatch? I had one in my mailbox since the end of autumn it is now the third week of April I thought it wasn't viable since it hasn't hatched yet so I tore it open and it looks like they're premature or something, most of them appear to be dead and two of them are slightly wiggling their legs sporadically but not moving otherwise, but how can they be premature after all these weeks and months? I am so mad at myself for having opened it. Thank you.
