My brother in-law had furniture in my garage, I called the Buffalo grove Illinois police because he was going to beat me up because I asked him to finally remove his stuff, The Buffalo grove Illinois police took his side(threatening to arrest me even though I was literally half his size) and told me he could keep it there because he had rights,(they didn't mind the fact that he hit me) After they left I moved all of his furniture to the curb and put a big FREE sign on it, All of his belongings where gone within 3-4 hrs. (he didn't come back because he had a long arrest record for attacking people and didn't want to get involved again) What a wonderful police department, fine upstanding bigots'!

Is this restaurant ever opening? The exterior of the store has been sitting in this condition for months now, while every time I drive by I see materials stacked in the same place inside. Worried that it’ll take on the same fate as the mysterious “grocer” in the development- Amazon Fresh’s indefinite hold on new openings has littered shopping centers in Chicago with vacant interiors/ready-to-go exteriors.

Completion of the interior of the restaurant was delayed, but we have received confirmation that they plan to open at the end of October!

Why so secretive about the name of the grocery store?

It's going to be Amazon Fresh. So disappointing.

If no store signed a contract yet, why was the store built to look like an Amazon Fresh store? Also why Amazon Fresh since the one close by in Arlington Heights has never opened?

@@lsher NO, it will not be Amazon.

I would agree that the tree lined streets (and variety of trees) is a key feature of an attractive BG. It was a major factor in choosing my home where there are many mature trees as a former nursery location. VBG has been very responsive in taking down trees when it is time and replacing them promptly. I don't think many people have such a high priority for trees, but trees contribute to peaceful ambiance, sense of permanence, and character in a subtle manner. It's a good idea to highlight that. On the negative side, they can be a considerable expense and chore to maintain. I appreciate that VBG believes they are worth it.

Thanks for the transparency. Good to see some comprehensive planning to to keep and make BG a vibrant community. Humanity is in the midst of a unique demographic shift. It's going to take community participation and forward thinking to successfully navigate the challenge more than ever. The more we know the more likelihood for participation. Even if it's negative, it's better than nothing.

There are a number of Covid safety measures listed on the web site this year, but I saw very few of them actually being followed. People crowded around in booths, handled everything themselves ("Shoppers should point to the product that they want and vendor will then bag it, and set down on table for shopper to pick up."), and people had their masks below their noses all over the place. I left when I realized I wouldn't feel safe eating anything I bought there. Farmers Markets are supposed to be a *healthier* alternative, not a health hazard!

Stores. Their vision of the future is stores. Maybe we can get Sears, Macy, or Carson's here. Or perhaps an off-track betting facility or a nail parlor, more likely.
