1970s-1980s the surf waves at cowels are very forgiving, the washingmachine does nor last long and was fun. on a perfect day the water would be clear and I could see the fish swimming under my board. a surfer could lire a wave a long distance and get plenty ot experience to move on to larger waves at the hook and then steamers. I had my board made at Hout, it was a 6'2" spoontail.

I'm from Pensacola Florida and rented a board at Cowbells Cove.Great people in the line up. Asked locals advice to navigate the crowd that day, one said pick your wave and learn how to drive in traffic and enjoy. Great nose ride fun place 😉

Hi, really love the santa cruz bullit, can I ask how many miles you've done on a full battery? And have you riden any other ebikes before you got your bullit?
@OysteinFSaebo2 жыл бұрын
Have ridden a few bikes earlier, but mainly the Bullit. The miles you get are very dependent on speed, slope and weight. I am 230lbs / 6'5", so if I am going all out in trail or boost mode, I will empty the battery in 1.5 hours or 20 miles. I actually modified the eco mode a bit and increased the torque one notch up. Now eco mode is my nyew trail mode, and the battery last so much longer. Probably 40+ miles in not too crazy terrain. Hope this helps. The Bullit will for sure get a bigger battery in this year's model. 720Wh or larger - but the current is still great.

Thanks for getting back to me, and I'll be very interested in the bullit more with a 720 or bigger battery, I hate battery anxiety lol but again thanks for the reply 👍 cheers

@@chethompson2186 The Santa Cruz Heckler is very close in specs, just a little bit less travel, but has a 720Wh battery. If you need a bike today, that might be an option.

Because of the lack of rain the last few winters, there is no sand built up in this bay. Even on the minus tides of early morning hours this past summer, the waves just rolled in and did not break on the biggest of south swells.
@scottthomasen8978 Жыл бұрын
Yep...I wanted to take my kids there to give it a go where I leaned growing up, but would never break. I tried to get there at the lowest tide and still nothing. Hopefully, that has changed now after the rains. Probably will run into waterlogged redwoods and septic tanks now!

This is the best spot to learn on the West Coast ! It’s where I learned in 1974 in a beaver tail wetsuit on a 6’ 1” micheal Junod single fin winged pin tail. Damn I miss that board.

You are so right! My kids are learning to surf and I keep wishing we could go there. It’s literally the best place ever for beginners

Hey I live close to the Mailbox trail and a lot of folks don't realize this, but the trail is on an ecological reserve. Biking there is illegal and I've gotten ticketed. Recently bikers have been constructing huge jumps, chainsawing logs, and screwing up the reserve all along that trial. The huge new influx of human traffic, trash, and noise there is really detrimental to the species that live in the forest. Please spread the word to the biking community that this is a ecological reserve and that biking is specifically forbidden. There are even signs at the beginning of the trail that make this clear...
@philipplastina1819 жыл бұрын
+Remy Le Boeuf Weak Comment, That trail has been in use for years by the biking community and gets trail service by the same people that use it, Its 1 trail , same as all the other "trails" that are built and "Not" detrimental to the species right? Everything we do is detrimental to every species out there, Your Trash, Car exhaust, and shit that comes out of your ass is killing the planet as well. I hardly believe the noise is any different from the trail that parallels Mailboxes. Guess its ok for the Rangers to wreck shop on the forest but Naaaaa, Not them boys on the bikes, they get the signs.

+Philip Plastina 10000% agree. Compare Mailboxes to the highways they've carved through Wilder. From my naive perspective it seems way less impactful.

Nice Video, What type of lights did you use on your IRIS. I tried some $2 blue LED bicycle lights from Amazon and it looks great. Have you thought of extending the legs? I'm trying some foam noodles on my IRIS.
@OysteinFSaebo11 жыл бұрын
I actually changed to these ones instead. Less weight. :-) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A6TKH0I I do want to extend the legs, and I know that 3DR is working on replacement legs that are longer. Perfect for FPV.
