The metallic shimmer in the scarf makes it look really special. Lovely! I hope the planning system is working out for you - getting things out of your head is always a great relief 😊

Thank you! That scarf came out much nicer than I'd anticipated, let's see if it gets worn. The planning system works so far, there's a bunch more yellow notes on there, but it does help with memory and reducing the very impulsive desire to do it all now.

The best ribbing might be one of the last few in this video or this other one that I created recently. It comes with two more videos to teach you each stitch and then you use those together to make an elastic ribbing kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZylnI1qeLd5m9E

@@varshagokhale4489 this is a demonstration of different ribbing types. You need to be familiar with the basic stitches to be able to make the, but I have separate tutorials for each stitch. Please watch those, learn the stitches, then come back and pick a ribbing style you want to make.

this is a fantastic tutorial🎉🎉🎉 So easy and forgiving. I didn't count how many stitches I had going around, I just kept doing long/short until it met up😂. I am doing a mix of freeform crochet and tunisian to make a crazy blanket and love the texture of the TSS in the round😊
@YarnAndy14 күн бұрын
Glad you like this! Did you see the tutorial for squaring these? You can make squares for your blanket kzbin.info/www/bejne/faHEdauno7yhock You can also add bobbles to the short rows to add extra texture. I was going to make a pattern, but it's the same thing, just with bobbles.

Aaw, you haven't made a pattern for the prototype poncho? I love the look of that one! But no hard feelings of course, I already have too many crochet, knit and Tunisian crochet projects... And then maybe thrown in some spinning projects as well😅
@YarnAndy22 күн бұрын
You know what, I tried 😂 I failed several times until I got fed up and have forgotten about it, but now that I remembered it I might give it a try again. Have collected some more yarn since then, maybe something is more suited to it than what I first tried. It needs a deep enough neckline, that's for sure.
@WinkyGirls23 күн бұрын
Ooh, I really love the look of mosaic crochet 😍, but I hate actually doing the mosaic crochet 🙈 I enjoy Tunisian crochet even more than normal crochet, this looks a lot less annoying than normal mosaic crochet. I will have to try it!! (And maybe even try if I can finish a scarf that has been stuck on the moasic crochet part for years by subbing in Tunisian mosaic crochet 🤔) Ooh I love reading this on your website: Can I use regular mosaic patterns for Tunisian crochet mosaic? Yes, any chart that works for regular crochet mosaic works for Tunisian crochet mosaic as well. Just keep in mind that in Tunisian crochet each row is worked from the beginning, without cutting the yarn. There is no turning.
@YarnAndy23 күн бұрын
Yeah, I should update that to say that any overlay mosaic pattern works. I haven't played with interlocking and other styles yet, but soon. I hope you do finish your scarf, mosaic in Tunisian is so much fun!

Hi Andrea and happy new year! I enjoyed this video very much. Speaking of sewing, I received a new sewing machine 🤩 I have always wanted to be able to sew. I plan to watch a lot of tutorials and take an in person class to learn how to use it this year and also to do more Tunisian crochet and learn how to knit. I’m very excited about all these things. We live in LA and it’s been pretty dramatic here this week, and I’m sure you know. I’m safe but only a few miles from the terrible fires. Schools are closed. It’s all so sad, shocking & heartbreaking. We will do what we can to help others and continue to stay safe. I hope you and yours are well, thank you again for your wonderful blog posts and KZbin videos, as well as your amazing patterns. xox

Oh, Marina, you have so many things planned for this year, I really hope you get to try them all. I'm glad you're out of harm's way, even though my heart goes out to those affected. This is so much like the Australian fires exactly 5 years ago, it is heartbreaking. I hope you continue to stay safe and that you can get a chance to enjoy your new hobbies soon!
@marina_m1126 күн бұрын
@ those fires in Australia were heartbreaking. And when I think of all of the animals in the Hills and natural areas around the Palisades, it’s very heartbreaking. In addition to all the homes lost and injuries and deaths. It’s a great sadness. For your encouragement I thank you so much, my dear! I think I will get to do some of those things, I got a crochet log, I’m using my iPhone to be more organized and plan projects. Figuring out my yarn stash lol. So many things to do! I hope you are well and having fun with your family, crafts and business, see you next time 💖

This is great!! I had been doing alternating rows of knit stitch and purl stitch, but it isn't reversible. And all the texture is on the back so the work had to be turned ... Stretchy but not nearly as elastic as yours!! I can't wait to try your technique 😊
@YarnAndy29 күн бұрын
Yes, that's not reversible. Glad it was helpful. There are also other stitch pairs that are the opposite of each other (purl and reverse, simple and reverse purl) which you can use for less elastic ribbing.

Yesterday I searched all of your videos for the info that are in this video but I was looking for "sweater", "binding off" and "binding off neckline" so I could never find this. I had to bind off the neckline with sl sts and luckily I went under the correct loops. Thanks for the video!
@YarnAndyАй бұрын
I'll add those terms to the description and link the tutorial in the sweater pattern when I update it. I made this video to show how to work the neckline on summer tops, where it's more important for that edge to be smooth. The sweater normally gets a ribbing that hides the edge.

Thank you so much for this! I am making your "Fiery Fingerless Mittens" pattern and I could not figure out how to do the mosaic pattern on the cuff, so I hoped you would have a video on your channel and here it is! This is exactly what I needed to know for the stitch and the chart; will use this technique on many others too. So glad I found you on the Ravelry Giftalong, looking forward to watching all your Tunisian videos.😃

I'm working your sweater pattern and I need to go down the neck line to bind off the last loops that are around the neckline. In which loops do you go in to do the slip stitches? Do you go under the top 2 loops? They look like chains, like if it was normal crochet they look like front and back loop. I looked everywhere in your blog and here but i can't find anything related. Thank you Andrea!!
@YarnAndyАй бұрын
I'm not sure which part of the pattern you are in, but here is the video I made for the neckline of the summer tops. It's the same principle, so please watch it and decide which loops to work into. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bom7i4t4nM1qgck
@Dollectable_DreamsАй бұрын
@YarnAndy Just after finishing the shoulder part, were you bind off 5 sts at the time, then you have to go down half neck line to bind off too. I worked in the loops I told you and it worked fine but I'll have a look at that video too to make sure. Does your paid pattern has more pictures of the sweater at various stages? Also, does the paid pattern have the instruction to make the Spores sweater that you made in dark grey and colorful design? In Tunisian crochet with simple stitch. If I have a question about the pattern can I reach you somewhere? I couldn't buy it a month ago, so I left a small donation but I can buy it now.

Your work is exquisite!🥰

Thank you! The yarn is called Wool Star from Gazzal, superwash merino with 350 m per 100 g. I bought it in Berlin when I visited the SparWolle shop, but I'm sure it can be found in other places that stock Gazzal yarn. The colors don't have names. As for the sweaters, one is a cardigan that I'm working towards turning into a pattern, the other I've shared about in the last vlog and will show the whole piece in the next one, but I don't know if there will be a pattern for that. Need to learn more about grading first.
