It depends where you are based. If you are in the UK, then BCS and ECBA are both good options. If you are based somewhere else, ECBA might be better. Check what certificate is mentioned in your local country's jobs, that can help you choose.

No one is ever doomed. You might just need to find entry level opportunities and/or opportunities in your current role to use BA skills. Alternatively, try and combine your marketing expertise with BA and apply for roles in Sales & Marketing companies. Good luck!

This is something I have been researching for a minute now, and I love this video. Thank you for this! In terms of building projects on your own, what would you recommend? Coming up with ideas and such I always overthink. And for building relationships with recruiters, what kind of message would you recommend? I always feel as if it's transactional

For projects: Just look out for potential opportunities to improve a process to start with. You can do this in your current job or perhaps a friend's small business or anywhere you can have some input. Re. the messaging for recruiters - this is tricky sometimes but if your resume & LinkedIn is at it's best, look for a role you might be interested in a contact the recruiter with a professional and friendly cover message...they may not always respond but if you are consistent, you might get a few responses. Always communicate promptly and respond as soon as a new role is advertised (while the recruiter is actively looking for people).... good luck! It takes perseverance and commitment but in the end you will find that opportunity!

re automating tasks. Imagine a system that takes your business requirements, automatically makes them user stories, then automatically makes those user stories, test scripts. then automatically uploads the user stories and test scripts to your development ops studio, and boom. it takes an afternoon, instead of 3-9 months to prep all of that. ;/

For entry level, the best industry certificate to start with that is also recognised in the US, will be the ECBA (from the IIBA). Just keep in mind that no certificate will ever guarantee finding a job though, it can only help build your professional profile.

These are relevant to Business Analysts but it is a specialist area/perspective - i.e. data analytics - I recommend this for BAs who have an interest in working with data (which is a fast growing field)

i'm thinking of practical tools. I like the idea of an AI system that could crank out user stories based on the requirements. that would be so, so so so so mint. it's disgusting having to memorize the entire suite of both business side, IT side, and system side stories EVERY TIME
