Yeah I can see why you wouldn't like it! This was shedney first time in any suite and enjoyed coffee in the room anytime she wanted. Personally I (Scott) would not use the one in the room for same reason as you!

I can agree to a point. I like rums but I (Scott) am more a whiskey guy. As long as there is light and dark rum I am happy. What rums would you like to see RC use?

@@scottandsheds the problem is that rum is vastly varied and can be quite nuanced. For example, a cocktail made with Rum Fire or Smith and Cross, vs one with Myeres is going to be vastly different, even though they're both technically "Jamaican Rum". Same with something like a Rhum Agricole in a Daiquiri, vs Bacardi. There's no real comparison in terms of quality. There's definitely room for both, and I get some people just want to drink something to get drunk. I guess my answer is, I'd like to see a few other styles of rum that aren't Spiced or with added sugar (kraken). Heck don't even have to be expensive. 🤣

@jaytee5692 i see what you mean now. I have also seen the same cocktail made with different rums/liquors at different bars. For me, I like my old fashioned to be made with makers mark or bullet. I once got an old fashioned made from Jack!

Hello Benjamin and thank you for watching our video and more importantly giving us feedback. This was our first and certainly not last Celebrity cruise. We loved the experience on the Reflection and found it to be the most relaxing cruises ever. We can't wait to see what else Celebrity has in store for us!

There were definitely things we loved about the food. Some things we liked and some things we weren't fond of. We definitely didn't go hungry!

We left it in good condition!

Hi act. Thank you for the support! The difference between royal and celebrity was something we were not expecting, but in a good way. We still like royal caribbean but we only sailed on Indy and Allure so far.

Hi Luke. Yes it was...well it was for Scott lol. He "ordered" it and I drank it lol. Honestly this is the best espresso martini I ever had on all four cruise lines we have sailed!

Hey there Bryan! Depending on the extra cost for the Concierge Class, it is worth it. I believe I paid around 200 more per person. We liked having a body pillow, the snacks were a good addition but for me personally I loved how the lunch just calmed everything down for a busy embarkation day. To answer your other question in regards to having a drink before before getting the room key, I think you can have the bar scan your boarding pass instead of your room key if you want that drink once on board. I think you'll love the Reflection. It's a nice ship and a nice relaxing time.

I'm glad your debarkation was quick! Ours unfortunately was not. It took us close to two hours! From what I read afterwards, it was customs that wasn't ready for us for some reason. But certainly glad it went well for you

How did you like Apex? We are looking at trying other Celebrity cruise ship.

@@scottandsheds the four themed dining rooms had us thinking we didn't need a speciality dinner. We had one at the steak house on the last night and it was spectacular. I loved everything about the ship really. The infinity room with no old school balcony didn't bother us as much as others. It was our first cruise. Celebrity really does strive to give you a better and more adult experience, but classy, not dead. The Apex is just spectacular in all the details. It doesn't have that ice bar, but the magic carpet is a cool speciality place. The Apex theatre was spectacular. The electronic screen is really used to great effect. My only knock on the Apex is all the high end shopping stores to me are just too much. I am not dropping a few K buying luxury items on the ship. That space maybe could have been something more interesting maybe? But I can't say there is anything second rate on the ship. The art, the funky furniture, the amenities and the food were all well done.

@@scottandsheds You might as well do the Beyond or Ascent for the World Class Bar if you like it that much. As mentioned, the Martini Bar has no ice. It's in a different location and is much bigger. It's in the lobby and the Grand Foyer area has changed in character to the Grand Plaza. It has live music at one end and a lot more seating areas but they're more spread out and people look down into it from above decks. It gets very active and loud at times. There are different public areas. Eden is this Garden themed multi-level space and I find there is a much bigger emphasis on shows and acrobats on this ship than the Solstice class. The Club is like a two-level lounge that has a lot of digital screens and a digital floor for activities but they also do shows in it. It's not really set up as a show lounge so some seats aren't great for viewing it. Then Eden also has what looks like a dance floor that is used as a stage for shows. There are some good seats for viewing and some not so good ones. The theater is modern and kind of in the round with huge digital screens to enhance the performances. It's impressive. The ship looks different. Instead of dark woods there is the popular taupe lighter colors used, with more muted colors overall. The chairs to me are smaller and lower. Not all of them are comfortable. The ship is more contemporary in design than modern retro like the Solstice class. The restaurants are mostly the same but Le Bistro hosts Le Petit Chef. Sometimes those restaurants are noisy because they are on the deck above the Martini Bar. There are too many high-end shops IMO. Instead of a Lawn Club there is the Garden Terrace I think it is called. There's a specialty restaurant in it. There are none of the smaller chill-out spots, the ship is more open-concept. No library, card room, Hideaway area, Ensemble Lounge, and Eden is aft and a different feel than the Sky Bar, which is forward. There are some hidden deck chill out spots, some seating areas and some areas of Eden are good for chilling out during the day. And Eden has a bar. They both feel like Celebrity but different Celebrity experiences. Just think if World Class Bar is a big part of the experience, then you might miss it on Edge and Apex. There's also the Millennium Class. You could see they are more similar to Solstice, just earlier. No Lawn Club but they don't feel old for the most part. But Constellation and Infinity are not as updated as Millennium and Summit, especially the cabins and some public areas like the buffet.

@benjaminsmith2287 we actually will be sailing on thr XCEL when it comes out. We realize different ships mean different experiences within the same cruiseline. We loved the Carnival Celebration, but didnt care for the Sunshine.

We did just celebrate our anniversary! We have been married over a decade and we have one daughter. Our neice comes with us on cruises when the daughter comes so she has company...you know because the daughter is too cool for her parents 😉

We found Celebrity to be a bit more upscale. In our opinion, the difference between Carnival and Royal Caribbean is the same between Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. It was a calm and peaceful cruise. Scott said this was the first cruise he never felt rushed to do anything.

It definitely surprised us because it had been so long since we saw him! And I am sure he sees many many thousands of customers throughout his career and yet he still recognizes us. We were blown away! There was another bartender that was with Nikolai on the Celebration but he moved to the Piano Bar. One of the final days of the Jubilee cruise that bartender remembered us. Once he told us he was from Alchemy on Celebration I remembered him! We made sure we took good care of both our repeat bartenders!

Well Scott is hard of hearing too. He did 20 years Marine Corps and artillery LOL. It's been years since we sailed Horizon (our only Vista class we have done). But we loved JiJis. We found the JiJis on the Sunshine just wasn't quite the same as Horizon

@@scottandsheds I've had it on the Vista and the Panorama and I dream about that Kung Pao lol I feel like both JiJi's and Cucina take just a little step down in quality on the Excel. And tell Scott I said I feel his pain that everyone always wants to talk to you when a) you're standing by the sink running water and b) you're standing by the washing machine lol WHAT????? And please stop talking to us when your head is turned away!

Thank you. I usually bring a big beach bag and I cover our belongings with the beach towel. I sometimes hide the bag under the lounge chair.

From Scott: Hey there! We try to have one of the girls stay with our stuff but if they aren't there we typically put our phones and other cameras in a bag or at the very least under a towel. If we feel comfortable with our beach neighbor, we ask them to look at our stuff to ensure nobody walks off with our stuff.

That's why Scott did not have but one or two. I had the pineapple drink just for the experience.

I had two long islands just in case the first one was a fluke....it was not. I would recommend going to the store on the beach (bit of a walk) and buying a bottle of liquor and discreetly pour your own drinks and maybe asking for a mixer from the bar....or bring your own soda to mix from the ship.

@@scottandsheds the only cruise I've (Russ) ever been on was 1 Royal cruise back in 1999. My wife (Lauren) has never been on a cruise so we're both super excited.

@InfectiousGroovePodcast I guarantee you will love it. Not that kids aren't welcome on Celebrity but there are essentially kids and definitely less hectic than RC and definitely Carnival. Everything is very relaxed and I never felt like I was rushed.
