Really cool video ! Honestly i'm still not sure which one to choose 🤔 I was wondering if 124k miles on the Honda crx del sol esi is fine or not ? I mean it's a really high mileage but it's a Japanese car so idk ?🤷♂️😅 I struggle to find some with less miles, so that's why i'm not sure if I should consider it or not
@scooch9885 ай бұрын
@@vilau3310 honestly every car is different. It all depends on how it was maintained. I bought mine initially with 199,000. But I bought it off a friend of mine who had owned it for a couple years and is a Honda tech. The woman before him that owned it bought it used in 1996 and took very good care of it, she actually brought it to my friends repair shop so he knew the car before he owned it. But even so, there was no telling if I would have a catastrophic issue 3 days into ownership. It’s always possible. Just do your research on any car you’re looking at, look at common problems and when you go look at a car you want, ask about those issues and if they’ve been addressed or look for yourself and see if the one you’re looking at has any of the common issues. And that can be applied to any car. Most likely an older delsol or Miata won’t have a crazy problem, but even the new one I have that I swapped the black car from this videos engine into has some electrical problems. The body is perfect. And it’s got a rebuilt engine, but as you can see, other things can fail. Every used car purchase is a risk. But the only way to find out if you got a good one or not is to take the leap and hope for the best. I know this was long but I hope it helps you in some way 😊

This was my first car with the vtech d series. My next door neighbor had the b series in his and I was very envious. The main issue I found with mine especially after modding it is body flex. It got so bad that when I parked a little off camber on my driveway you can’t take the roof off or put it on if it’s already off. But I ended up ruining the car with engine swap and turbo. Better to keep these stock.

Nice sound,from that Top Gear exhaust. Nice video - you did it with the heart….a true Boxster-man💪😀. I have a 2006 987 Boxster S too. I had a 2.7 Boxster before - absolutely loved it the engine there too. Sold it…thought I wanted to get a 911. Given the choose, I picked the Boxster S, as 50/50 weight distribution, I get in the Boxster, I don`t get in a 996 or 997. The Boxster or Boxster S are just the Ultimate drivers car…with not too much hoursepower - that means you can actually have fun reving it out without loosing your license. When I hear the condesending words about “…oh, it is not a real Porsche - a 911 is”. Then I just smile at them…and thinking “poor you, you just don’t know…”. It doesn’t matter. Hey Scooch, Richard from Hong Kong. I drive an EK4 with B16A engine. I wonder if it is a good idea to use 5w-40 instead of Xw-30s because the motor is 20+ years old. Looking forward to your view.

Hey Richard! I think it all depends on preference at that point. Before rebuilding my engine there were times I ran 5w-40 because it was leaking a little so I ran a thicker oil. So I would say unless you’re running into any issues with 5w-30 right now you could keep running it

Yea the engines Honda was putting out back then were far superior, but there’s a reason everyone tracks Miata’s, that drivetrain is tough to beat.
