I bought the Umbrella Blu-ray right before I heard about this release. It's pretty bare to the bones, but I like the transfer. That is a stunning box set, however!

It is a beautiful box with the artwork on it. I saw the 4K transfer last night and it looks really good, Second Sight did an awesome job with the restoration.

One of the best thrillers from the 80s Excellent movie 🍿 Rutger Hauer gives a great performance as a psychopath killer. 👍👍🍿

Awesome pick up. I’m surprised you went for the big limited edition since you said you were trying to cut down on them because of shelf space. I have received my copy as well, I never seen the movie. I’m excited to see it.

I don’t need editions with screenplay, art cards and thick book. Also I hate digipack editions! Therefore, I am not total fan of limited edition of Second Sight but I don’t like also standard editions which are too simple. At any case , some Limited Editions deserve to have it. I have Martin and TCM.

I saw it opening night theatre at midnight on Friday 13th. I just watched my 4k copy. I enjoy the film but it doesn’t compare to the originals, F13th(2009) the kills feel edited; it’s lighting is a little too dark overall, you can’t see the kills very clearly, especially with the shaky cam and the kills are just too fast(I know it’s meant to be this way to show how strong he is but still), there is one slower kill with the Screw driver to neck but the lights are flashing so even that feels like a lighting edit. what are your thoughts on the movie?

I pretty much agree with you but it is the early 2000s shaky cam and all. I thought it was a nice touch that Jason was hiding underground, the producers were trying to do something different. The kills were okay, the original Friday the 13th really didn't have a lot of blood and gore and one kill was offscreen if I remember correctly. I still enjoyed the remake for what it is a buffed up killer Jason movie.

I like this one a lot José. Got a Blu-ray Mediabook of the killer cut here in Germany, but will definitely upgrade on 4K.

Excellent looking steelbook, I really do love that artwork, I own the regular Scream Factory 4K release and the Second sight Blu-ray. I can confirm that the Second sight release is the only one with the original music.

I got torso 4k with the slip. I also reversed the cover art. Great job by arrow on the transfer. Definately a bump up in quality over the shameless release. A bit dissapoihting arrow only gave us the one disk with everything on it. Usually a bluray is also included. But i might keep my shameless copy

It’s cool that you were able to get the limited edition. I got the standard 4K edition. This came out so much earlier than expected. I remember getting my copy at the end of August. I was really surprised.

Actually you will find the fighting quite different, and far more intriquite than that of any Venom's film. As is the plot and the entire production for that matter (weaponry, sets, costumes, etc). You'll find it more akin to films like AVENGING EAGLE, RENDEZVOUS WITH DEATH, HUMAN LANTERN, THE DEADLY BREAKING SWORD, THE PROUD YOUTH and JUDGEMENT OF AN ASSASSIN. That's because the same production team that brought you those unique masterpieces is back at the helm here. I'm referring to none other than Director extraordinare Sun Chung, and his go to Master Choreographer Tang Chia. I'd be remise if I didn't give an honorable mention to Tang's ever present assistant choreographer, the mighty Huang Pei Chi. This is by far Sun's most ambitious project because it doesn't rely on any known major Stars to carry it. In fact, the main ensemble consists of a who's who of background villains and supporting actors from various Shaw Bros productions. What also sets this film apart from any others that come to mind is that you don't know who the Good guy/Star is until the very end! Or who the "Mastermind" is until the end as well! A Super Duper superb film from my personal favorite director. With standout performances across the board! It'll have you even feeling sorry for some of the bad guys, the way they meet their demises and all. Yuen Wah (Bruce Lee's acrobatic double) is finally allowed to showcase his outstanding skills in a Shaw Bros setting. Too often his talents had been constrained in their films. But the entire production seems to have been made to showcase the suppressed talents of the background actors, who had to downplay their skills in order to make the lead players shine. No other film has done this, at least to this extent! This film along with the Shaw Bros production of THUNDERCLAP has been very long awaited to be seen in WS clarity, and with ledgeable subtitles. The first and only version available for decades to hardcore Shaw Bros film fans, was a lousy, blurry camrecording on VHS 📼 with no subtitles. They were completely cut off at the bottom. Then came a far better version on on DVD, that still left a lot to be desired in terms of picture quality and accurate subtitles. Wouldn't you know that not long before this release, some "Fan made" specialists put out the best version to date. It has very good picture quality and more accurate subtitles. But this 88films release is the one we've been waiting for! BTW, the Chinese characters on the original poster reads, Chi Sha. The same name as the villainous gang in KID WITH A GOLDEN ARM. Now if we can just get THUNDERCLAP released...🤞😎👍 ✌️😎👍📺📼📹📽️🎥🎞️🎬🎭

Meaning that it must be watched multiple times, because little details will be missed initially. And you will discover something new that you missed each time you watch it again. It's a true classic in every sense of the word. And a great murder mystery that keeps you intrigued from beginning to end! So, I have the A&E set as well. I just got this in the mail a few days ago, but I noticed it didn't say it had the Alternate Chimes of Big Ben, like the A&E release does. There are extras of the alternate footage, but, am I losing anything by getting rid of my A&E set?
