Textual winds aloft forecast are always given in TRUE. good memory item is that “if you read it, it’s true”. Why is this important? Because when you do flight planning you need to do true course and then calculate your wind correction angle based on true winds. When the tower speaks the wind to you over your comm radio they are given to you in magnetic . If you are new to the game and only know and use ForeFlight, then you don’t have to know this …. If you’re old school or want to be a real pilot, ….this is good information to know . Nice job overall! Thank you for this video

There is no 3000 foot winds aloft cuz the station elevation is high. No information is given for some airports (stations) at 3,000 feet MSL. This is due to the altitude at which the station is located. Wind forecasts are not issued for altitudes within 1,500 of the locations elevation. The station does not need to be under the ground. The station could be a 2000 feet MSL….

Not trying to be a dick, but when you refer to the runway numbers, you might want to refer to them as runway one eight and runway three six rather than runway eighteen and thirty six. You sound like a rookie when you call them 18 and 36. Sorry, just trying to be transparent.. Overall nice job.

@@johnmackin7384 yes you are right I should have said course to be technically correct since radials are courses. However, when we fly to intercept a radial we are going to use our heading indicator. There will be error if there’s wind correction that we can fix with our CDI needle. But you’re right I should have said course

I believe an answer on excesding the 100 hour inspection stated you needed a letter from FSDO? I thought that was only for the annual? Thank you

@@corythomas3925 ahhh ya you are correct. I think I slipped up. You only need a special flight permit form FSDO for the annual or if you go over the extra 10 hours since those are already baked into the regulation
