Thank you for sharing these important safety tips. I was CHA trained 30 yrs ago and still practice and teach following CHA standards. I’m often frustrated when visiting a barn that does things not as safely (like hard tying a horse instead of using a breakaway string) because they don’t know any better, think it doesn’t matter, or doing things a certain way because they saw it at another barn (even copying a trainer.) Well done! 👏👏👏

My cinch hobble connector strap came with a quick connector clasp on one end of the leather connector...and then no buckle or anything on the other end... I'm super confused how this is supposed to work without a buckle..any ideas right off hand??

In Ranch Horse classes, what is the current proper attire for the handler? Also, what if your horse has marks from other horses on their body due to turnout playing around?

I am so glad you mentioned staying in contact. I see newer riders that always have to be reminded of your contact while grooming and inspecting. So many donunderstand the importance of this action.

Any tips on how to keep my back cinch from sliding forward? I keep catching my spur in it on the right side. The left side is good but on the right I keep getting caught in the buckle. I adjusted the right side so now I only catch leather but I can’t use my spur after

I was trained riding a full seat and my OTTB seems to prefer it. Do I get points knocked off for not riding in a half seat over fences in Hunter classes?

Thank you for posting this video. It's the only one on KZbin that I've been able to find that shows where to do a safety check on an English saddle. Unfortunately I fell off the horse last week because the riding school I go to didn't properly check the tack and a stirrup leather snapped mid canter and I went flying off. Now I know what to check every single time before I get on so thank you very much! I would go to a better place, but unfortunately it's the only place that's close to my house.

Can you please explain what is meant by "check release" and/or big breath out, check release and go back down to walk.".
@K.Adler11202 ай бұрын
Check and release just means to stop or slow up, then to relax your hands back down to the riding position

Hello! I have some stuff to say. Sorry if im wasting your time. But every lesson my trainer always puts the mounting block a little bit to far under the horse. Which at times tends to make my foot slip and almost makes me fall (could possibly put me in a dangerous position with the horse if i fell) and never corrects me if my heels arent down and if my riding posture isnt correct either. Sometimes i don’t even notice if my posture and heels are in the wrong position. And the barn makes people pay 40 usd for a 30min lesson. (In my opinion that seems slightly overpriced for 30mins) but unfortunately i cant really go to another barn because that’s really the only one near me. I am 13 and don’t really know what to do. Thanks for any help!❤️
