You say psychic is an instant reset, but there's nothing stopping you from playing additional unscored cards with a high card. In fact, it's really useful as you can do this to discard cards without using discards

You could do a only rare jokers challenge since most of them are only good with others jokers

I just had a very similar game. Ghost dexk with a first round skip reward of free cards and packs. Bus. Polychromed from hex Wee joker Blueprint For the longest time blueprint wasn't even on the bus so I could scale more per hand but essentially played high card 2 twice every blind.
