I think wearing makeup and being beautiful makes some cheap wigs look good. I seen some models with horrible wigs and they look good but when I wear it I look weird. I have to wear makeup so that the wig doesn't stand out. 😂

I could be mistaken but I think what was missing here was a volumizer spray/Serum, which should be applied first from root to tip on damp hair. Then followed by the heat protectant. That Jen Aniston look from the 90s was all about that volume, so yeah you need that type of spray. Last thing - maybe that barrel is just too big for shoulder length hair resulting in straightening rather than curling because there's not enough tension. If I were you, I would just purchase Revlons Round Hot Air Brush which has a smaller barrel.
