My 2023 heavy aged Murphy R9 is not flaking at all? I did see a rew years back when the ML was started they had issues with the nitro formula but it was resolved? I don't see any more current owners talking about this flaking on their Ml?
@PanamaJack6666 ай бұрын
@@Murphy_R9 I feel like the finish could flake off this gold top I've got... But it hasn't yet! The real test I think will be in years to come. One thing I am sure of is the Murphy Labs are outstanding guitars. I've not played a bad one! I know some people with real bursts and they've been convinced by the Murphy's when I've spoken with them!
@Murphy_R96 ай бұрын
@@PanamaJack666 I tested mine by trying to pry a small piece off with my fingernail and it is on the body wood really good. IF this were a actual issue with all of them i would have heard a lot more about it especially on the MLP forum i frequent. I am NOT SAYING there was not a issue with the finish at one point but i am not seeing any post 2021 owners complaining about flaking? There are literally hundreds of thousands of ML's out there post 2021!
@PanamaJack6666 ай бұрын
I don't disagree at all, There must be loads out there! However, I have a friend who had a custom and the finish peeled straight off that one when an area was masked off with some low tac tape - he was absolutely gutted! That was probably a 2021 example

@These_go_to_eleven_1959 that really was the purpose of this video... I personally think they're great guitars and they will hold their value. I saw Sean when he was 16 in Savannah Georgia, i moved to Atlanta a couple years later, played bass in a few blues bands and crossed paths with Sean many times. When ever his band played locally and i had a free nite i would always check him out. Everything about Sean was real he meant every note he played and sang. On breaks between sets he was always down to talk music n guitar. Occasionally he would sit in with a band i played with we had a weekly gig at Fatt Matt's Rib shack. My greatest memory of him was at one of his gigs we had a great conversation on black n white film reels from the forties of Louis Jordan and other blues artist which we both collected on vhs. I am so blessed to have met him n share a stage with Sean.
