Petition after petition was made þo the family to remove his hèadstone. It was an embarrassment to other people laid to rest there and their families.

Woodlands is a beautiful cemetery with stunning views of the sea. My mother is buried here and it sickens me to think that Saville ended up here. I sincerely hope he has been removed from such a pretty resting place. He doesn't deserve to be buried anyway. He should have been thrown into a cess pit.

The West Indies played England there on Aug 26 1976. I remember it for 2 good reasons: 1) I have never seen anyone bowl as fast as Michael Holding did and 2) my appendix burst halfway through the game. Just a year later I played there in the Yorkshire League.

Need to visit again as redevelopment work has happened at the back of the Stacey-West stand (named after the two fans who died in the Bradford fire). I'm sure if you contacted the club they would find someone and arrange an internal tour.

As an Aussie I remember walking down that road behind the long grandstand and watching Lincoln City beat Rotherham (hope I got the team name right) 1-0 in 1999, supporters of each club were let out at opposite ends because of the threat of violence. Lincoln is a nice city.

He hasn't been exhumed. Nobody wants to pay the estimated £20,000 cost. The Trust set up in his name, which is reponsible for setting up a compensation scheme for victims using funds from his estate, refused to pay for it, stating the money would be better spent going to his victims. The same Trust also tried to block a victim compensation scheme through the courts. Have to wonder who these cunts are.

I feel sorry for the person who made & engraved the tombstone; probably spent ages on it, lot've work making that giant headstone, perhaps telling their friends they were working on the memorial of a 'celebrity', only for it to get smashed up when the evil truth finally got made public [after BBC & Govt/Thatcher had covered it up for decades]

weird how I would have met him had I stayed longer in Scarborough ...someone at the hostel where I was staying knew him.... but I had also a wild yearning for the great blue yonder and Crete island, - the theft of my phone back at the hostel triggered a new phase of my world voyages... - funny how on my departure from Scarborough on my mountain bike I rode straight past that place while still not knowing that he lived there... - I had also ridden past there (at speed) on my Sunday outings, - could easily have passed within inches of him and not noticed...

The pub was the infamous Victoria & Comet. Most violent pub in its day. I believe it was pulled down, but it's back, having lost the &. I was in there a couple of nights ago and it makes a great deal of the Get Carter scene.
