This is called "Starter Locs", it is way easier to comb out than other locs style. Big respect to the stylist❤

Been a doing hair and locs since 1996 and I appreciate you for this! I’m a part perfectionist so people flock to me and I can’t stand when others don’t do it right! You fixed it and I know he’s elated about that!!!!

Sis, I love your honesty and accountability. That is a great sign of professionalism. ❤ I'd also like to add that your client was a trooper. He sat so diligently while you did his hair. When the video started it was daylight, towards the end it was clearly nighttime. So happy for you both. Your work is beautiful! 🙌🏾

🤯Only at about 3:18 and had to pause and say this. You are an AMAZING stylist! To admit that you weren't as thorough as you are now, then circled back to correct prior work on your day 1? That speaks VOLUMES to your integrity and work ethic. We need more stylist like you in this world! 🙏🏾

What are the best things for starter locs for the itch and how long after getting them do I need to wash them?
@GraceTheStylist8 ай бұрын
I recommend the Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier (linked in my Amazon Storefront) or some rose water. Spray either one on about 2-3 times per week to help with itchiness and moisture. And as far as shampooing you can shampoo them within 1-2 weeks after you start! It does help with the locking process however they will get frizzy (also very much apart of the locking process)! When you shampoo too, don’t overly manipulate your starter locs because you don’t want them to unravel! I hope that helps! 🤞🏾

I’ve been doing locs for about 3 years. I started on my husband. He has psoriasis in his scalp and they had to be redone every week with a scalp treatment. Took me years to find something compatible with his scalp. I ended up cutting it and starting over. I finally got his scalp under control and started over. Now his locs are even and look great! I’ve really learned a lot with this journey and I’ve even learned to line him up and taper. Now he wants braids and I’m excited to take them out and work on my braiding. I just had a daughter who has tons of hair and mine itself is 27in long and I’m self blonde. I hope his as east is this. Can I use a metal comb or will that cause more damage?
@GraceTheStylist9 ай бұрын
Hey!! The second time I combed out a clients locs I used a metal comb and to be honest I didn’t like it. It could have just been the comb I chose to use. It kept stabbing me and was a weird comb to hold! 😩 However I really didn’t notice it causing more damage. So if you want to use a metal bomb go for it! Just make sure you have the regular plastic ones near by too just in case! 🤞🏾

I wish the person that started mine felt the same way because I am nearing a year and I hate them. Really thinking about just cutting them off and starting over. They look nothing like what I had in mind
