13 years ago this video was made. I think it's safe to say I'm probably never going to see one of these or the big boy for sale. And if I do it probably going to be damn expensive.

Mega modular layout. Z scale. My favorite. I have N scale trains. Too HO scale. I don't have Z scale trains. AZL and MTL Z scale.

What is that parrot like shreiking noise? Please don't tell me that's what Z scale sounds like.
@smholt Жыл бұрын
The AZL engines Are very silent, but the old Marklin engines you can hear in some parts has much more noise. Newer Marklin engines with modern 5-pole engines are more silent. Some Microtrains engines have also similar noise as the old Marklin engines.

This is fantastic, I also model in Z scale and 3D print components. Would you be interested in sharing the file so I could print some for my own layout?
@smholt Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I want to install in on the layout before I may share some files. It could take some time, but I am planning a small setup with several of my models soon. So after that it could be possible, but no promises at the moment. Stay tuned. 😎😎

Outstanding work, love the solution for the rotating sign. Thanks a lot for showing the project to some of us at the exhibition back in October. Great work!

Very nice model Svein-Martin, I really like your rotating bucket. I tried to do it on my model too, but I was trying to use micro stepper motors, and they did not have enough torque. Your solution works great! I use a lot of the Attiny 85 and Attiny 88 controllers in my projects too, because they are so inexpensive. I can't wait to see what you do next!

Thank you for the good Words, Robert. I love to follow your projects online. You have so Much progress and many inspiring projects. Time will show what will be the next projects.😎 I love to work with all this.

One question...did the folks who put together these sections use a flex-track, or did they hand-lay the rail? either way - it looks great!
@smholt3 жыл бұрын
I think they use a combination of sectional and flextrack, like from MicroTrains and Märklin.

That's quite a lot of detail on the model for Z scale!!! Impressive! And it has LOTS of pulling power as well!

Hmm_ so much for 'scale' running. Can't recall seeing many freights running at 100+ mph - lol Actually, some of the trains were being run in a VERY accurate manner, so thanks for showing those. Just for the heck of it, maybe you could start-off the videos showing a 'Z', 'N' and 'HO' standing side-by-side? Most of this video does NOT show how small 'Z' is. I will never forget the time I saw GRAND CENTRAL STATION under a large coffee table's glass top in 'Z' scale, and the layout was COMPLETE. AMAZING!
@sarge272713 жыл бұрын
I agree about the speed....I just can't get this run-it-fast thing?? It destroys any realism brought on by the artistry of the layout...sad.
