I personally rather just buy an L cage and get a friend to throw from the mound. I throw to my kids from the mound. Nothing beats hitting off a real live pitcher. But this. This is cool and very well done.

That belt looks sketch. Don’t want anyone’s hair, clothes, kid fingers, etc., to get pulled in there. Why not connect the wheel directly to the motor?

@CarGuruGalore
@CarGuruGalore Жыл бұрын
It won’t save that much money, I would honestly just invest in a company like jugs or something that has been studying the tech to make better ones. But the time you buy the motor, it’ll be 500 already, not to mention the electronics, sheet metal and the tire.

Now all you have to do is get a dog and train it to put the ball back in your Gizmo that way you could just sit there, with a beer in your hand in a lawn chair. Interact with the child, and stop treating him like a dog fetching a stick!

When he gets older and can do it himself you can put a large square net that leads the balls back into it so he can just throw it and keep going.

What, you have 2 balls for running drills with the kid? Build a friggin pitching machine but can't scrape up more than two beat down old moldy balls to chuck at him. And get a glove. Or have someone else with a glove stand off to your right, his left to take the throw to first. Better off practicing the whole motion of getting down in the ball then coming up with it, transitioning and making the throw to first. Throwing back to you takes the angle out of the throw. He's not generally throwing the ball back to the catcher so don't drill it that way. Throw toward first. With purpose. Yknow the old saying practice makes perfect is wrong, eh? Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes pretty damn perfect, but halfass practice builds bad habits so ya might as well do something else. Sweet pitching machine tho. Thought about building one a hundred times but could never decide how I wanted to do it. Then the need kinda passed so I guess those times are all with.

He’s not gonna learn how to catch a ball when it’s high or straight going to him so you need to throw high balls and straight balls at him Edit: he needs to learn how to throw too cause this is not gonna help him

Look at where the ball goes to the end of the bushes both times. The kid stood in 2 different places, the ball goes to the same spot each time.

Lol, bad hops are a major part of baseball, kids that play on the worst infield, and practice on it as well, are usually great fielders. I played 10-12yrs at 2 fields our home fields, were 400 feet from the beach, which hardens the clay on the indield into rocks, plus we had no way to drag the infield before a game, the infielders from both teams would do the best with thier cleats. When we showed up to play against the wealthy leages field, it was a dream to us, super easy. The visiting team who played us would have 75-100% more errors, on our field or thiers, hard work pays off practice on the worst, the wealthy team will be soft, and not know how to handle abad hop.

@@zippygibbs20 Same here. We literally practiced in a cow pasture for several years when i was a kid. And field we played on wasn't much better. We got to class when my pops stole the neighbor's garden tractor to drag a piece of chain link fence around the infield to knock down some of the high spots.

@bradpointer6134
@bradpointer6134 3 жыл бұрын
That's what I just commented as well. The catch and throw come as a set. Ya gotta have both or the one doesn't do ya much good. I always preferred having them catch the ball and actually make the throw over toward where first would be from his position because that changes the way you make the transition and throw. You can charge the ball hard if you're coming up with it and throwing back to home plate. But you have to make an adjustment to plant and throw to your left instead to first base.
