What supplements to you use to keep your live rock looking nice? Am new to this.

WTF is this.. I think you need a job. Any job that supports bringing guns (although fake) to work and shooting emplyees is not a place I think you should be at.

A system with absolutely no outside help and starting from scratch, yes, it takes a long time to cycle. Throw a fish in and it takes less time, throw a bunch of live rock in and it takes even less time, throw a bag of sand from a tank that is mature and it takes even less time.. add to that a few other bio materials from different resources and it can be done in no time. I worked in the business for 2 years and customers are not always patient so I learned real fast how to speed things up. =)

The 4 to 6 weeks is a myth. I have said it before too many times. The 4 to 6 thing is to keep people that have no IDEA what they are doing from killing such a delicate environment. Done proporly a tank can be cycled in about a week. Half the water and rock I used was from an existing tank along with a couple bio wheels that were already set. A few other components and it spiked ammonia about day 3 Nitrites around day 5 and now keeps little to no Nitrates. All other levels are on key.

The Nitrogen Cycle taking 4 weeks is a myth to keep people that have no clue what they are doing from buying and killing fish and coral by putting them in too fast. On the other hand the Nitrogen Cycle can be run in less than a week when using live rock, a couple hardy fish along with other things taken from live tanks already... This tank spiked ammonia on day 3 and by 5 days in was completely done with the Nitrogen Cycle.... Only thing now is to keep one step ahead of the algae blooms...

How did you cycle this aquarium in less then a week?!? The nitrogen cycle takes at least 4 to provide a stabilzed system.
