I love these older buses. I am sure the Alexander Y Type body was based on the GMC bus design!

TC40102N 12 years ago From my few experiences of visiting transit authorities, SEPTA definitely had to be one of the most open. I visited NJT's Meadows Complex, all thanks to a contact of mine inside NJT, and my guide wasn't overly "enthusiastic" about trains. However, on my ride back to Newark, I had a nice chat with a NJT employee. I guess it depends on who you meet.

Those seats are like the seats in Victoria's 1991 MCI Classics except the Victoria ones are vinyl, but same style as this.

Glad to see videos of the best modern train rides in England such as the Class 465 units which i really like and enjoy traveling on

Actually it's an 80s train, modern trains are like the 700 now
@bb-36532 жыл бұрын
@@OffTheRailsUK it's a 90s train actually. But I think he means modern in the sense that it' was one of the units that gave birth to modernised futuristic looking units, that sort of went beyond the whole clunky old metallic aesthetic, these look and sound more like toys if anything. Motors sound smoother and the train operates like it weighs as much as a feather despite being on third rail with its limitted power. Third rail units supposedly use around 1000 to 1200kw per unit on average .. But the total power output of the 465 in theory could be around 2400kw per 4 car unit , as it is said to have 8 280kw motors per unit. Thatsz alot of power , could be useful to getting them to 100mph if modified and allowed to do so And also if the traction system would allow it anyway . That's assuming it can (I doubt it at this point in time )

Wait why, all that happened was the motors went from regen/rheostatic brakes to friction brakes.

The GWR Class 800’s which do the London Paddington to Swansea or Carmarthen use the 25’000 Volt over head lines as far as Cardiff Central but switch to the Diesel Engines there as the electrical power terminates not far past the station, the switch is reversed at Cardiff for the return journey back to Paddington

I'm not sure what it is about the older 455 motors, but the drivers always seem to not like going fast with them, whereas with the newer motors on the 455s, the drivers would allow it to go up to 50 to 60 inbetween stations more often
