Currently have this issue on my truck, mechanic is saying replace turbo but turbo is not giving signs of being bad just this noise. Any suggestions?
@frankdaiii640313 күн бұрын
This ended up being an exhaust leak. double check that first! turbo's will not make that noise.

What would happen if you machined out the pitted impeller area and replaced it with a bronze or brass whatever would be the best and heat shrink it in place?
@frankdaiii64032 ай бұрын
If you've got the necessary equipment for all of that, and the technical skills, why not make a complete front cover out of bronze? I recommend you stick to FORD OEM parts but hey, let me know how it turns out!

Do you know the part number for the step motor? My Nissan is having this issue, but I cannot find the part at any part stores. Amazon and ebay are the only places it comes up for shipping.
@frankdaiii64032 ай бұрын
F1CJA Is the part number for the manufacturer I found on ebay. the cross reference numbers are: 203452A, 33435J ,D33439N. i recommend calling your local Nissan dealer with your VIN and asking for the official part#, though most sites on ebay have a compatibility chart and the same part# is applicable to many models. BUT VERIFY TO BE SURE. You are probably not going to find it at regular parts stores. Try a transmission shop, but it's probably going to cost significantly more.

Nice video and great tips. I'm doing this job on a 2013 Edge with the 3.5L engine but with the intake manifold in place. The setup for the abs pump is identical to the MKX you repaired. What's interesting is that all of my fastners were metric, including the 10mm bolts that held that battery support bracket and the 13mm bolts that held the pump bracket. Yes, that rear pump bracket bolt was a PITA. I tried getting it from above and had no luck so I jacked up the front left corner of the car and was able to get it from underneath the car with two extensions going in from the behind the crossmember. And that damn hard transmission cooler line is just a major PITA when dealing with those two front bolts in the ABS bracket and also the two battery tray support bracket bolts. Seems like they could have easily designed the shape of that line so it didn't get in the way of all those fastners.

Man great videos! I just had a partial cab lift done on my 6.7 and now the ac is acting up. Cycling to much and the refrigerant is very loud in the lines now and sometimes whistles internally in the lines. Very strange. I feel like the dealership damaged my lines bt stretching them they said they didn’t have to vacuum down ac system that it had enough slack. What are your thoughts on what they coulda damaged? It’s a 2016. Your personality is great. We would get along well in the shop. Keep up the good work friend. I was having my upper oil pan changed from a 2016 with the silicone to a 2011 with the o ring style pan gasket. My pan oil leaks have been chronic so I was happy to find a 2011 pan. But the partial body lift definitely hurt my ac somehow.
@frankdaiii64036 ай бұрын
If the dealer refuses to fix it I DEFINITELY would never use them again and tell all my friends the same. I'm surprised the dealer would do a partial lift seeing as removing the master cyl, disconnecting the AC system and ground strap is basically all that's left to lift the cab. Regardless, if it's cycling "too much" it's usually an indication of low refrigerant, but HOOK UP GAUGES and see. they're like $59 at harbor freight. Another thing would be to get a black light or a "sniffer" and check for refrigerant leaks. I would do SOMETHING before it gets worse.

Yes when the cavitation eats through the front plate and gets in to the oil it will certainly leave a mess. After my problem I flushed the engine crankcase 4 times to be sure that there were no coolant in with the oil. I was lucky. Very lucky. 50K miles later still OK. This is the time you replace with Ford diesel coolant with the cavitation additive. And change your coolant often

If the Nissan rogue can go up to 180 mph, but when you drive long journey it starts going into limp mode at 80 or 100mph and doesnt go more than that, and start hearing whinning noise from the transmission, and eventually going to limp mode at 20mph or 40mph and stalls, but when you switched off and park for about 30 minutes. When you switch on and driving it, the car will accelerate very well, going to higher speeds as if there were no any problem. The scan code is P0741, Torque converter clutch solenoid malfunction. How to solve this problem?

Does the steeper motor when goes bad cause the whinning noise from the CVt transmission ?

I don't think so. Make sure you have the proper fluid level , but more importantly make sure it's CVT FLUID.

Hi! Frank. I asked for help last week because I was working in my stepper motor and I couldn’t figured out how to put everything back, so you suggested me to send some pictures to your email but eventually I figured it out. However, I have another issue, I installed the stepper motor and put everything back, the car seems that is running fine but only forward , the rear gear is not responding so I can’t back up. I put the scanner abd it’s reading that code p1777 is pending. What should I do, did I do something wrong why the reverse not working? Thank you

Frank I have another question. I am not a mechanic and by watching this video I tried to change the stepper motor myself, I took off the all panel where the selenoids and stepper motor at, but now I can’t put it back because another piece of the panel attached to the stepper motor came off, I probably took some screws that I wasn’t supposedly to remove. Do you have video how to put the panel back, beside this video? Thank you for feed back

What happened if the vehicle was running without transmission fluid? And through code p1777 and p 0845??
@frankdaiii6403 Жыл бұрын
Get it looked at by a professional, but it sounds like you burnt up the actuator (valve) body. 1777 is the step motor. I believe a while ago I saw a p0845 (IF that's a pressure sensor B code) in a friend's Sentra and one possible fix was a valve body replacement. It didn't work. That being said, we also found the harness mangled by a previous "mechanic" so we never really got to the bottom of it. IF you ran it with very little fluid for ANY length of time and the vehicle produced DTCs, my recommendation is you get it to a transmission shop that works on CVTs and pray for the best. The p0845 is the doozie. As I think back, the pressure sensor is in the middle of the valve body and is not serviceable if I remember correctly. I'm not a mechanic nor a transmission specialist so I'm just telling you what I would do with my own vehicle. GOOD LUCK!

Please help, my Nissan altima 2008 2.5s stocked up in first gear, won't go beyond that, after diagnosed with computer, P1777 code was detected, today I took it to my mechanic, he service the gear, and test drive, it worked, after few seconds, when the car warmed up, it got stocked in first gear again. Now I noticed That ATF fluid was used to top up the gear oil instead of CVT fluid.. Please I need your help, what should I do?
@frankdaiii6403 Жыл бұрын
OK. First of all, a P1777 is an ELECTRIC code that tells us the step motor is not reacting properly to electric input. I'm not sure what he did when you say he "serviced the gear." Absent obvious wiring damage, the repair involves replacing the step "motor" (actuator). Second, if your mechanic filled your tranny with ATF and not CVT fluid, I recommend you get another mechanic. it needs to be drained and refilled with CVT fluid. The step motor is relatively easy to replace. I think I bought mine for $34 or so. I hope this gives you some direction.
