Another good video on Bennys Alex. Thanks for that. Very informative 😊 👍🏼 Quick question. I'm not sure if I am using enough volume of bait to get best out of the peg? 🤔 In a typical 5 hour match, how many bags of 4mm pellets or pints of maggots or castors would you use?
@alexdockertyangling8737
@alexdockertyangling8737 3 жыл бұрын
Generally on bennys I’d probably take 5 bags of 4mm pellets just in case for shallow but usually you’ll feed 2-3 bags. Caster/ maggot wise I’d always like to have around 8-10 pints as well with me for the session
@andykirk26
@andykirk26 3 жыл бұрын
@@alexdockertyangling8737 Thanks for that Alex! 👍🏼 👏🏽 Yeah, that's confirmed to me that I don't feed enough. Watched Alan Scotthorne on Bonsia, saying he feeds about 1 pint of maggots per hour, fishing on deck.

Good video Alex! I managed to Catch plenty of those skimmers/tench & odd F1 the other week on Bonsai. 👍🏽 😊 What time of the year do you find that the best bait changes from maggots to pellets/bigger baits on commercials?? 🤔
@alexdockertyangling8737
@alexdockertyangling8737 3 жыл бұрын
Generally early spring and then the autumn it’s best to target them. When the weights are too big you need to catch f1’s and carp to do well so just target those

2 questions Alex. Live or dead maggots, and at what point would you consider ground bait, and what type?
@alexdockertyangling8737
@alexdockertyangling8737 3 жыл бұрын
Live maggots when loose feeding mate. For me groundbait would be better if you’re looking to target fish exclusively on the bottom or if you’re on a larger lake and want to draw fish into the peg before loose feeding to bring them shallow. Because of the depth and numbers of fish on beeches you can get away just by loose feeding
