Maybe you've already learned this now, but when you're driving down a mountain use engine breaking to slow you down rather than holding your foot on the brakes itself. Shift down a gear and try to find what gear slows you down to the desired speed! It can rev a little higher doing this, but as long as you're not in the limiter its fine. Love the budget build! I'm looking to do the same in a couple of months, so seeing you two do it on a budget is a breath of fresh air in between all the over the top builds

Epic build, still one of most practical/ reliable and cost effective build. How many litres of water do you guys carry usually and also is having the gas inside much of a worry for you guys at all? But nonetheless an unreal build and also a similar design I’ll follow for sure!

Awesome shower setup guys, just my 2c worth, use a car valve from a tyre shop for the valve a lot easier and won’t have to use any glue, you pull them through the hole and they kinda click into place and will hold 100+psi so will be watertight as. A whole lot easier than bike tube valve

How do you find the height in the back? I'm toying with the idea of working (in IT) in the back of a trooper but dont want to sink money in a rooftop conversion. I can never tell if its good enough to sit comfortably without being too low down. Your seat height looks good for legs, but does your head hit the roof with a straight back?
@sophiawhite78752 жыл бұрын
Hey mate! Our old build was a bit lower down so was the perfect height for both our legs and head however we made this build a little higher for optimal storage space and although we can’t sit straight without hitting our heads on the roof, it’s not too bad as we don’t spend too much time sitting in the car and have gotten used to the height. We considered a roof top conversions but it’s way out of our budget so if you have the money go for it but we don’t mind the height at all! Goodluck with it all

Great job on the build, a quick fix for your draw / cooker issue, remove the top of the draw, trim it so it fits inside instead of on top of the draw, you will gain the thickness of the plywood for that extra depth your looking for.

I enjoyed watching a couple of your videos, I really think you both have real potential, however, I couldn't watch all of this video as I started getting motion sickness. I know your all excited to tell everyone what you've achieved but please slow the camera movement down a little. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Awesome setup. I bought a 4.5 troopy. 2016 and it has 460,000kms. I’m not sure what to think but for a price of $27,000 it was the best price. Long story short, the whole fuel system was shot due to bad diesel. I’m going back to a patrol now…

well done guys, shows that you don't need to spend a million bucks to get out there and enjoy this country. oh, and IMHO don't worry about the engine being old style, just keep it serviced and don't flog it and it will do you into your old age.
