I've had the 209 ones for years. I would probably put a little emphasis on SOP for preventing fires tho, the shotgun ones seem to carry a less than zero probability of setting ground debris on fire.

The timimg of this video was perfect. Mine got delivered today. Question; How would you set this up perimeter-wise? As in surrounding your tent. Would you use 4+ stakes/trees and wrap a single wire and alarm for the whole setup, or would you need more than one alarm and wire?

That all depends on the area around your perimeter. Can your line run smooth through each corner? If it has a smooth flow then you will be OK with running the line around each pole/corner (use eye screws to help on the posts/trees). If there are obstructions then you would need to get another device. It all depends on how smooth your line is so it will be able to pull out the trigger pin.

Does the trip alarm have enough spring power to reliably set off the .22 (old and new versions)? I've seen other companies that sell spring upgrades with their trip alarms if you buy a .22 adapter.

The bear didn't come back that night, it did come back the next night, but by the third night it did not return. There are still stories of the bear getting into the trash in the area but it has not returned to this residence. :)

@@fithopsoldaccountwell done. Here in south africa we also have " bears" . Climbing over walls to dig in other peoples stuff. You know what i mean.
