Too good for a b-side , really well produced b-vocals of Alain. Ridiculous that Sunny didn't chart top 10,criminal.

Why is this not on Spotify???? I always forget the name of it but thankfully the line “all the pennies in the Thames will not make it how it was” has stuck with me for 20 years. Such a beautiful line

Bloc Party has a sound that is so unique and warmly melancholy. Kele is the only reason I was able to figure out who I really was. This song, Like Eating Glass and I Still Remember hold such a heavy place in my soul❤

So the lyrics online for this are not accurate, I have been transcribing all the hoover songs with the wrong lyrics, I have most of the correct lyrics here, I am missing a few words, perhaps you have an idea? :) (????) = missing words This scary face on the wall His watch kills every minute With a Sherlock Holmes hat And a rope around his neck ‘Cause she said Satin doll, satin doll Step by step Against the wall, against the wall Instead ‘Cause she said Satin doll, satin doll Step by step Promises, promises Is what she said Who's the vampire’s prey? He strangles me every minute These purple eyes talk to (????) Get me out of this (????) Satin doll, satin doll Step by step Against the wall, against the wall In my head ‘Cause she said Satin doll, satin doll Instead Of promises, promises Promises, promises ‘Cause Satin doll, satin doll Step by step Against the wall, against the wall In my head ‘Cause she said Satin doll, satin doll Step by step ‘Cause Promises, promises Is what she had And promises, promises Is what she had Promises, promises ________________________________________________ These parts: "These purple eyes talk to (????)" The word was online saying it is "These purple eyes talk to him" but he is clearly saying a word that starts with "m" and ends in an "r" the "r" could be from his accent, or maybe saying he is saying "mirror"? (mirrors makes more sense but there is no "s") or "me"? but the "r" really throws it off, it sounds like "mare" but it's definitely not... that makes even less sense. "Get me out of this (????)" It is written as "Get me out of this constraint" online, this is not even close to what he says, it could be 2 words, 1 word? "Get me out of this coma, dear"? I am really not sure. Any idea of these words would be a great help! :)

When it comes to this record, I honestly don't know where I would begin, so I won't attempt to break it down. Put it this way: this song will be played at my funeral.

I don't think the band cares about it enough to put it on spotify. AFAIK it's only on pandora. I believe all of SA era should be avaliable for everyone. it should have some sort of 20th anniversary in 2025 at least, it's an incredible disservice to a great period, if not one of the best, in the band's history.

Thanks! Also, I see you have noted that the song appears as a B side. What does that mean in the streaming world? I cannot locate it, even as a bonus track on any of the copies of Keep Us Together. Thank you once again.
@radiotecnia2 жыл бұрын
B side comes from the old LP long plays vinyl records, where the A side was the main single and the B side was for tracks that were less commercial or were not part of the final album. In this case "Rise Up" were released in Europe along with the single "Keep Us Together" from Starsailor.

Oh, oh, oh... I have been smashed again With the men From the Old Valhalla Road Crematorium Boring men with the same old patter I am a simple man Not much to gain or lose And I don't know why I held out so long for me and you Until he drew A swallow on my neck And more, I will not say He drew A swallow, deep and blue And soon, everyone knew Then I was wrecked again With the men full of bluff and ardour From a well-known funeral parlour I am a simple man Not much to gain or lose "Older and wiser" Never applies to me And so he drew A swallow on my neck And more, I will not say He drew A swallow, deep and blue And soon, everyone knew Aah... Ooh... Aah... You have been telling me That I have been Acting childish Foolish, ghoulish, and childish Oh, I know, I know, I know I know, I know But I don't mind I don't mind I don't mind Ah... I don't mind Ah...

It’s exclusive to the Japanese version of Wilderness is Paradise Now. Best bet would be to look around for apps that let you download/convert KZbin videos to audio files and download this video as the track, as it’s not available on digital and the Japan CD with it on is expensive
