Stove Top Jambalaya Recipe 7qt Pot (doesn't have to be cast iron) Ingredients: 5.5# of Meat (sausage, chicken, pork) 2# long grain rice 10.5 Cups of water of chicken stock 10.5 tsp of chicken base (only if using water) 1.5 tsp salt .1 tsp pepper .5 tsp cayenne pepper 5 tsp garlic powder 5 tsp onion powder Rusty's Seasoning for Every Stuff to taste 48oz trinity mix Cooking: 1. Brown meat using Rusty's on your chicken or pork. Remove meat after browned. (don't scrape out the browned sticking to the pot) 2. Add trinity mix , seasoning with a little Rusty's. Stire on a lower fire scaping all of the stuck brown goodness adding a little water to remove the glaze from pot. Brown onions until around the color of a brown beer bottle. 3. Add salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic and onion powders, soup base if using water, and some more Rusty's to taste. 4. Add meat back in and stir in with onions and seasoning blend. 5. Add water and bring to boil 6. Once at a rolling boil add in the rice. Continue to stir making sure that rice doesn't start to stick at the bottom. 7. Once rice has absorbed liquid and liquid level is barely on top of rice, lower your heat to almost off and put the lid on and leave alone for 25 minutes. Do not touch the lid once on until time is up. 8. After 25 minutes, turn fire off and take your spoon and roll the jambalaya from bottom to top mixing in any residual liquid. Do this all the way around. 9. Serve you a plate and enjoy!!!!

Love your review and your daily commentary during your trip. We are taking the same trip on the same ship Later this summer. Your dog is a ball of fire, guessing he is a pup.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed our trip videos. You guessed it, our little chippy is an Australian Shepard pup, full of energy. Wishing you guys a wonderful trip. We are headed back in June 2026 doing southbound on the grand with our kids.

@@CoComelonfanpage168 had amazing time. A lot of taking in the beautiful scenery in Alaska. Did some activities on the ship but for the most part if we weren’t in port we were at a window or outside.

@wbunch we leave for 11 day cruise on the crown princess in 9 days. Hope we get nice weather. I booked some nice excursions including salmon fishing on a private boat in ketchikan. I don't know if I'm making a mistake booking with princess or if the prices would have been better at one of those booths in town selling excursions. It's our first time in Alaska so I'll know better for next time.
@wbunch4 ай бұрын
@@bigguy1403 on some excursions you can save a little money. The big perk of booking through Princess is transportation was provided for all needing it plus you don’t have to worry about if everything is sold out once you get to port. Like our helicopter tour, it was sold out with Princess and had no availability to join at the port. You guys have an amazing time on your trip.

What camera are you using for the video? And the still of things like your meals?
@wbunch4 ай бұрын
Great question. All video and stills were shot with a GoPro Hero 12 with the media mod which is a surround that goes on the camera and adds a three sided mic with windscreen and an optional light. The mic is less sensitive from the rear which I learned I have to talk louder for it to pick up better.

Did you see any whales in Glacier Bay? Lots of otters & seagulls, few eagles & seals, but briefly glimpse of a whale tale for us on Grand at start of May. Good to see Kimkim still at karaoke; one of our faves in CD staff.

Thanks for the video. We are going from Vancouver in September on the Sapphire Princess. The weather looks spectacular. Is it cold?
@wbunch4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. It was in the around 50 in Vancouver in the beginning of May. I would expect the same in September. As for the temps on the cruise, it never go out of the 40’s and if outside in the wind on the ship if felt colder.

I feel ripped. You embarked Grand the same day we disembarked. You got aurora while we got clouds.

Awe I’m sorry yall didn’t get your see them. For what it’s worth with all of the lights on on the ship and very little semi dark areas to view, we could see the greens with the naked eye but everything you could barely see unless you had your camera out while viewing. We had just gotten out to open water and the ship was really steaming along so there was a lot more exhaust in the sky at the back of the ship. I hope other than that you had an amazing trip.
