Thank you for the video. After watching, I may need to move my reservation. I will be visiting in early October. Currently, I am in a high rise on the Malecon by Av. Revolucion. A very pretty place with a beautiful roof top pool. Is that a good area for first time visitors that walk a lot? Is there an area with better beaches to get in the ocean on the Malecon?
@buenosdiasmazatlan7 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Do you have the name of the complex you are staying in? That would help in giving you a more specific answer. However, in general the beaches along the main part of the Malecon (Playa Norte to Valentino's) is good for walking. You can walk most of the sand and, if the tide is too high or you find yourself dodging too many rocks, you can walk on the Malecon itself. I do not suggest swimming/surfing along these areas as there are many rocks and currents to deal with, although, you will see some folks swimming in certain pockets along this beach. As for areas to get into the water, my choices would all be north of Valentino's through the Golden Zone and, my absolute favorite, Point Sabalo and "Playa Luna Bonita." If you go farther north The Marina area and Cerritos have some nice beaches for walking and swimming, however, these areas are a good distance from downtown if that is important to you. Olas Altas can be ok depending on the tides and waves.
@kirkmadere54147 күн бұрын
@@buenosdiasmazatlan The address is Avenida del Mar 1800, Sinaloa 82017. Central Tower 102. I picked that place because it seemed to be between everything. Close to walk to Golden Zone, night life and maybe centro.
@buenosdiasmazatlan7 күн бұрын
The Central Tower 102 is a very convenient location for the reasons you gave. You are on the Malecon near the New Aquarium and not too far from the Golden Zone for all of the action it offers. I would still suggest that you head north to the Golden Zone and beyond if you really want to do some ocean activities. The beach in front of you is ok for walking but there are many rocks hidden under that beautiful surface. You do have a nice rooftop pool for swimming and staying cool so be sure to take advantage of that amenity. Additionally, you will be directly on the Green Bus route which will get you into Centro or as far north as Cerritos in air conditioned comfort for a whopping 13 pesos per ride! Using this bus, you'll be able to have easy access to the beaches of Golden Zone, Sabalo Country, Marina and Cerritos. Enjoy you visit and thanks again for watching.

Thanks for watching....July is HOT!!! Temps will be in the 30 to 35 range Celsius (86 to 95 F) with high humidity. Be prepared to either be in a swimming pool or inside an air conditioned place from 11-4 just about every day. Also, July can be quite a rainy month so be aware of the weather reports and be prepared for the monsoons that can rise up in the afternoon and evenings. Enjoy your visit...it's a great place to be!

@buenosdiasmazatlanАй бұрын
DoubleTree is at the northern end of the "Zona Dorada" (Golden Zone) and Marriott (Courtyard) is pretty much in the middle of the action! (as you probably remember) It's a pretty good walk from Marriott to Doubletree. If you watch the previous video beach walk we did from Shekinah Beach Club to Ocean View you can get an idea of how far Doubletree is from Marriott Courtyard.

I have seen in Mazatlán News there has been armed robberies and mugging to neighbours at Sabalo Country? What do you think? Have you seen something?
@buenosdiasmazatlanАй бұрын
There was one incident about 2 months ago here in Sabalo. An individual was walking his dogs and two guys on a motorcycle pulled up and attempted to steal a gold chain or some type of jewelry. The gentleman attempted to argue and push back against the two while trying to keep control of his dogs. one of the robbers pulled a gun and shot him. The guy was taken to the hospital and, after surgery, it seems he has been recovering nicely. There was a huge uproar in the community and police patrols are now more common in the area. They are also planning to re-open a neighborhood police booth that has been closed for some time. All this being said, I feel very, very safe in Mazatlan...especially in Sabalo. The incident was highly uncommon and it is not something I worry about. However, as in any city in Mexico, USA, Canada or wherever, you always need to be aware of your surroundings and don't go to areas that you're not familiar with.

Great video! In December, my wife and I rented an AirBnB at Casa Barros Condominiums in El Centro and it was a beautiful condo with rooftop pool and terrace, HOWEVER, as you can see at timestamp 3:28 - 3:33 in your video, there is a storm drainage grate in the street, which a Policia truck is driving over in your video making a load "clang" when both wheels go over the grate. Our condo was on the left and faced this street and the loud clanging noise drove me crazy after a couple of days. So we vacated the condo and moved over to our long time favorite Hotel Posada Freeman Olas Altas for the rest of our visit. We had thought we wanted to try an AirBnB this trip and the condo was nice, but the loud noise from the storm drainage grate, made us wish we just would have just stayed at the Freeman in the first place. We enjoy your videos and plan to be back to Mazatlan for Christmas week this year. Thank you!

Fun fact: People is not allowed to change the old style of those houses, if a person buy one of the houses at centro historico, they can give em the proper maintenance and even some structural reinforcemente (if the reinforcement is in the inside of the house), but owners have to preserve the colonial look of the area.

Thanks for watching and for your question. When I first came to Mazatlan 3 years ago I lived in the Centro and Playa Norte areas before choosing Sabalo. I chose Sabalo primarily because I enjoy a little more serenity in my daily life. At 72 years of age I don't partake of the party life like I did in my 20's, 30's, 40's , etc. I also like the idea of living a block or so from a really nice walkable beach (Playa Luna Bonita). Yes, Centro is very convenient for walking and, as long as you don't mind the noise and congestion, it certainly has a lot to offer. However, I appreciate the more quiet side of life. Also, there are plenty of good restaurants, bars, shops and markets within walking distance of my place. I would suggest that you explore several areas of Mazatlan before choosing where to live. Remember, nothing has to be permanent!

Very much enjoy our home area! At the moment we visit as often as we can. only about 1 month out of the year at the moment. Every year it gets longer! Haha! But you have a lovely neighborhood area! And I read online how you clean up on the beach! Very great! I always leave the beach at least as clean, if not cleaner than how we find it! I enjoy your point of view! Take care!

Muchas Gracias Diana. There are many different areas to consider when making your home, permanent or temporary, in Mazatlan. Through these videos, I hope we can give a brief glimpse into the character of a number of different ones so that current and future visitors can get an idea of what might work best for them. Yes, I walk the beach about 5 days per week picking up trash as I get my exercise! Hopefully, it is making a difference but, for sure, it makes me feel good!

Sabalo Country is supposed to be a combination of average Middle Class to Upper Middle class neighborhood, the same for Royal Country, El dorado (although there are more upper middle class houses and condos in there), Las Gaviotas and Lomas de Mazatlán. The rich and Luxury neighborhoods are El CID and most of the neighborhoods around la Marina zone
5 ай бұрын
All the neighborhoods near the malecon are average middle class (like Alameda, Tellerias, Palos Prietos) or a combination of average middle class and low middle class (Ferrocarrilera and Reforma) Low middle class neighborhoods would be Jabalies, and the most poor class neighborhoods are at the very east of the city
@buenosdiasmazatlan5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments and for the info. Yes, I agree, Sabalo is definitely Middle/Upper Middle Class. In the near future we will visit the other areas that you mentioned to see how they compare. Our goal is to help folks understand that, in addition to the much publicized areas of Centro, Olas Altas, etc., there are a number of other viable choices available when it comes to residential neighborhoods in the city of Mazatlan.
