I love this and I hope you do! I am new at sourdough and was so intimidated by the process but I have since taken a more relaxed approach and it is working. If You decide to make one, please let me know ❤️

I would check Lowes, Home depot, and Menards, to see what kind of plastic panels they have. You might find some clear panels that would suit you. I just saw some clear corrugated roof panels 2 x 8 foot, for $18.
@gratiasgarden17 күн бұрын
Yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. Corrugated clear panels may just be the move. Thank you for your suggestion.
@waltc61417 күн бұрын
Zip tie those bowed panels to each other lengthwise to stop the bowing and have the support run through the zip tie- (flip them and let them flatten out first- then you could use flex seal or similar (even hvac tape could work after cleaning the surface w/ alcohol) to seal the outside joints/ holes where the zip ties are. Cheap and easy. best of luck and happy holidays!
@gratiasgarden17 күн бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. I am not sure the panels are with saving but I will definitely give your suggestion some more thought. Happy Holidays!
@krustysurfer17 күн бұрын
Make sure zip ties are UV resistant, most are not and degrade rather quickly in sunlight fyi 😉
@1D10CRACY18 күн бұрын
May want to look at Clear Polycarbonate Fluted sheets. They are about 50 bucks for a 4x8 sheet from the hardware store and are typically UV resistant. If you have a plastics retailer near you, it will be significantly cheaper.

I mean... you got it from harbor freight - what did you expect? Of course it's cheap crap. Thats like going to walmart expecting a 5-star dining experience.
@gratiasgarden18 күн бұрын
Just saying it lasted me for quite some time and I never expected it to last me a lifetime. It lasted about as long as I figured. I always knew the time would come where I needed to replace panels. Thanks for watching ❤️
@joemachismo659418 күн бұрын
I wouldnt use glass as a replacement. The harbor freight greenhouses are built kind of flimsy(no offense) and I wouldn't trust them to be able to support the extra weight from using all glass panels.

None taken, that’s why I am a bit hesitant to use it. Thanks for the comment.

Maybe also consider buying a new one just to keep for parts and replace broken pieces as it comes up. If you buy parts from the selling the sum of the total parts all ways cost more then the item its self.
@gratiasgarden19 күн бұрын
You aren’t wrong. I think I’m gonna try to replace with corrugated clear panels as needed. I think the sun wont be as harsh on them as quick. Thank you for your comment!
@bcworks2219 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience. While glass would be much stronger than what you have, their weight starts adding up to be quite a bit. Replacing a couple roof panels and wall panels with glass is probably OK. You have to know more will be coming though. I'm not sure that structure can handle the weight of a mostly glass roof. You were rightly concerned about glass, though you didn't say why. I assumed breakage. It can happen but it's unlikely anyone would be around when it happens. If weight was your concern, you're absolutely right. Glass is heavy! Polycarbonate is probably the strongest plastic readily available, but it's pretty expensive. But you'll be unlikely to need to replace it again. Best of luck with whichever solution you choose.
@gratiasgarden19 күн бұрын
I agree and think glass would scare me if not secured properly. I think the corrugated clear panels may be a good choice over time. Guess I’ll have to experiment. Thank you for your detailed comment, I really do appreciate it!

🫐🫐🫐🫐🫐🫐🫐🫐You save the seeds and you put them in the hot sun and let them shrivel up, they will become tiny little pebbles ……………………. This way it took all the energy and transferred it to the seed If you could get some pots with some soil bury the pots in the ground halfway to 3/4 away in the ground fill the pots up all the way except for 1-2inch left Sprinkle 10 seeds and each pot Then put 1-2 inch of soil on top Next year at that time, you will have trees 1 foot tall that you can sell for $15 each -$20 If you cannot sell all of them, the following year they will be worth between $30-$40 The following year they will have to be transplanted in early spring and a larger pot or placed in the ground and creating an orchard everywhere I invented the way to dig ground with water called Hydrotilling maybe that will help you soften the soil so it’s easier to dig friend

I make this all the time just a heads up if you use cinnamon sticks you yield a better antioxidant benefit 😊 and actualy cloves instead of the powder it just releases more of the original health benefit because you loose about 40ish to 50 percent when its powdered but its not something you cant do and also you should absolutely feed them to your chickens and elderberry jam!!!!

My Elders are way darker. I’ve never seen berries that color. Do you know what variety you have?
@gratiasgarden5 ай бұрын
They are darker, there is just a film on them. If I let them stay longer on the tree, the coating goes away. It’s hard to say 100% the variety I have as they have been in the property for well over 25 years but I would say they are either Sambucus Nigra or the blue elderberry sub species. I think it’s the latter. I also have a few white elderberry trees.

My HF greenhouse has been up now for 10+ years. Sadly the second season it was up we had VERY high winds that twisted and dropped it. Took a LOAD of mods to get it back up and stable. Lots of wood screwed on and tposts in the corners. We also had to rebuild the entire door area! We are getting ready to build a bigger one and the parts from the old will be recycled into my new one!
@gratiasgarden8 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and your comment! Yes, the door is by far the worst part about it. I’m glad to hear you are reusing some of the parts. I do know that at some point, the hubs is going to have to rebuild but I hope to use the frame. Did you have it on a foundation? Ours is screwed into the concrete.
@CaravanFarms8 ай бұрын
@@gratiasgarden We used the one it came with.... and used screw in tie downs to bolt it to. The plan now is not going to be flimsy and will have metal and foam for the first 40 inches of the walls. Then we have some 18 inch x 48 windows we picked up to go above that.... then new or reused panels of the twin wall but 2 layers and one will be the plastic/fabric pulled tight. Frame will be treated wood that will be dipped in a coat of waterproofer to double the protection. The first 8 feet of the front will have a solid roof then 12 feet of removable roof and then 4 feet of fixed. The plan we have drawn is to have 4 panels that will come off so I can take them off during good weather and put them on if hard freezes are coming. MOST of my growing is citrus which is now in VERY large pots. The older we get the harder it is to move these so being able to have them in place and NOT move them will help us and them. I also have other tropicals and such. The 8 foot area will be for growing racks and things that do not need rainwater falling... May have a shade house area on one side for my orchids. As for the doors we took them off and worked on them to make them swing open using piano hinges..... they have held up very well to hurricane winds... the biggest issue with the whole thing was the panel clips did not hold in even moderate winds... we used washers and screws to hold them on after having to chase them through the pastures!
@CaravanFarms8 ай бұрын
And the whole thing will be 12X24. I hope this is going to be large enough<G>
