Thank you for this interesting video, Junon!! Out of curiosity, since the infj uses both logic and feelings, would he/she be able to see things from the perspective of all the different personality types? Or would he/she be limited to one viewpoint as well?

I'm glad that you like the video! INFJs have Introverted Intuition (Ni) as their first function as it relates to people. Therefore, they are mostly interested in absolute truth that transcends the five senses, logic and contextual ethics & morals. Since INFJs have the most balanced brain of all the 16 MBTI personality types, they can understand the point of you of the other 15 MBTI personality types. In other words, INFJs are a combination of the main personality traits found in SJs, SPs, NTs , and NFs as well as Introverts and Extroverts. That's why it's difficult for most people to type a true INFJ. J.M.

@@vmas3 You're welcome! According to Dr. David R. Hawkins, only 1 out of 10 million individuals is an INFJ (or has a theta brainwave dominance). Therefore, the likelihood of stumbling on one is extremely rare. That's why in history, true INFJs were the enlightened beings (Buddha, Zoroaster, Jesus, Mother Theresa). This pairing comes with challenges indeed. There are more pro's than what you've mentioned, and you didn't put emphasis on the biggest challenge between these types. Because it's NOT EF vs IF, because these are usually compatible , the issue comes from their secondary functions, which are the ones they gather information with, which are Extroverted Intuition vs Introverted Sensing. One is expansive the other is contracting. The INFP dominates ESFJ, just like ENTJ dominates INFP. And I'm not using the word dominate in a negative way. INFP most always has a higher view over the relationship compared to ESFJ, while ENTJ has a higher view over the relationship compared to INFP. Imo this pairing can work only if the man is INFP, and not the other way around. Same with ENTJ and INFP, only works well if ENTJ is the man. If they are both mature enough, and understand this pairing is primarily fruitful from an evolution standpoint, it can be rewarding. If they can avoid parent-child dynamic, and can be grateful for the differences and can be very aware of them it can also last.

@@practicalspirituality7447 I am an ENTJ and both of these men are very much INFJs. It is not true that INFJs have the healthiest brain. Not one bit. All types have a spectrum of ‘healthy’. It is very tiring to constantly hear the stereotype that INFJs are akin to saints. That is not true and many people can attest to this. They have the ability to manipulate and will use it if they see a benefit. Hitler was also an INFJ. When INFJs have an idea that something is the ‘best way to do something’ they will do anything they can to get that outcome. Sometimes for good and also for bad if they believe it is the way it should be. I suggest you study the infj dark side in more detail and stop using the blanket explaination ‘they have been mistyped’. Also as an ENTj we are often told we lack empathy. My friends often tell me I have too much empathy (incidentally they are mostly F types). Just because someone has F in their type does not mean they are truly kind and caring it means they make decisions using emotion over logic and as we all know emotions are not always kind or caring.

Hi @galefray, Generally, a gap of 20-25 IQ points is very significant. Furthermore, your girlfriend's IQ (125-130) is still significantly high compared to the average person (100). An IQ of 150 is at genius level. If you feel that she understands you quite well, you may need to specify in which area of your life. Most women need to respect their romantic partners to be attracted to them. If the male partner's IQ is much lower than hers, she may no longer be sexually attracted to him. It's not necessary the case for a man if he only wants a fling. J.M.

@@practicalspirituality7447 You make an excellent point. I will indeed specify: I think she understands my desire to be alone, to be lost in my work in various moments in my life, as well as the fact that I needn't have attention and people around me as much as she does. I think you're right in saying she's still quite significantly bright (we met at university). I think it's her own ability to reason and to notice my patterns of behaviour that allow her to be so flexible toward my energy overall. Also, yes, to be honest, I'm definitely not a genius; I think that word should be reserved for people with incredible accomplishments. I am a quantum chemist; I don't really consider that to be anything fancy for someone of my "level" if that makes sense. Funnily enough, I think Spearman's Law of Diminishing Returns is an interesting phenomenon as scores reach the higher ranges though I've read a paper that claimed the phenomenon is itself likely to be a statistical artifact more than anything else. I make this point because despite her I.Q. being lower than mine, she still performed the best on Fluid Intelligence which was closer to me than her other subtest scores which makes sense! Lastly, I agree with you that the respect factor comes into play; I think that's why I am quite convinced that it's a bit more likely to workout if the male is a bit smarter than the female!
@practicalspirituality7447
@practicalspirituality7447 Ай бұрын
@@galefray It seems that your girlfriend is more right-brain dominant intelligent than you because she implicitly understands your emotional needs. An IQ of 150 is generally recognized as genius level. Whether a person uses their intelligence to accomplish incredible work is a separate issue. I think that Fluid Intelligence is more indicative of IQ because Crystallized Intelligence is mostly based on long-term memory. I agree that women usually prefer intelligent men - even for a casual romantic relationship. J.M.

Intp male married for over 30 yrs. to an Infp female both from a very traditional background but also very egalitarian, I feel it can be an ideal match if the Intp has a strong missional purpose or belief system that guides them and if they have artistic qualities that the Infp can connect to. Also if the Infp is committed to speaking their mind and holding their own and appreciates/values the knowledge, and approach, the Intp brings to issues/problems/the relationship. If they truly value the other and don't feel they must be right or get their own way. I was helped by your statements (and agree with you fully when you.said) the Infp will probably carry more of the work of the relationship and also that the Intp may not feel understood. My wife and discussed both of these and these were the two most helpful points to discuss as we grow together.

@practicalspirituality7447 Ай бұрын
Hi @marksequeira2757, Thanks for taking the time to write comments about my video. The major challenge that I have when replying to messages like yours is that most people are mistyped. Since romantic compatibility mainly rests on brain (or personality) type, it's very difficult for me to know if we are referring to the same MBTI types. Based on brain physiology, Intuitives make up only about 15% of the world population. About 85% of people have a Beta brainwave dominance, while Intuitives have an Alpha or Theta brainwave dominance. ENFJs and INFJs are so rare that we don't need to include them in MBTI personality type statistics. Whereas INFPs and ENFPs make up only about 4% of the world population. Therefore, an INFP-INTP pairing is very rare. Furthermore, this type of couple would have more aspects that set them apart than bring them together. Moreover, INFP's emotional and spiritual needs (a core component of NFs) can't be fulfilled by the INTP. You seem to be in a long-term fulfilling romantic relationship, so enjoy it! However, I still stand by the adage that "birds of the same feather flock together". J.M.

Brain waves with MBTI? Cite your sources pls
@practicalspirituality7447
@practicalspirituality7447 2 ай бұрын
Hi @MariaM-qq6kv According to renowned late spiritual teacher and psychiatrist Dr. David R. Hawkins and current scientific data, Intuitives have slower (i.e., Alpha and Theta) dominant brainwaves than Sensors (i.e., Beta). You can verify this information on pages 133 & 263 of his book "The Eye of the I". There are many articles on PubMed that also underline the fact that most people have dominant fast Beta brainwave while awake. This article titled "Exploratory study of brain waves and corresponding brain regions of fatigue on‐call doctors using quantitative electroencephalogram" is an example: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7176745/. I would strongly suggest to read the book "Why Him? Why Her?" by renowned biological anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher. In her book, not only does she refers to (4) main personality types (Builders (SJs), Explorers (SPs), Directors (NTs) and Negotiators (NFs)), but she also identifies different dominant neurotransmitters (i.e., dopamine) and hormones (i.e., estrogen) of these types. Furthermore, renowned psychiatrist Dr. Daniel G. Amen noticed after scanning about 63,000 brains that there are 16 types - same number as the MBTI personality types. Moreover, depending on the brain type, some regions were over or under active. In other words, modern technology has shown that the main reason that people behave differently over time is due to how their brains are wired. I trust that this clarifies my point of view. J.M.

So those differences weren’t an issue. He actually taught me how to be sociable and I quickly became very popular, but soon retreated back to my lone wolf comfort zone. I am a social butterfly in social situations but most of those situations drain my energy and so I don’t remain in such situations as long as others. Our main problem was actually our shared hate for conflict and preference for harmony which made discussing and working through problems nearly impossible. So it was actually our shared personality trait which was our biggest issue. ❤

While I do agree that maybe in some cases, this is true, I am in a wonderful relationship with an ENTJ and though we do have our disagreements at times, we are able to work through them and come out with an even stronger bond. I admire his ambition, (to a point😉) his outstanding intelligence, his commitment, and effort to make sure my needs are always met. He is very physically affectionate, (with me) is always there when I need him, and is intentional about expressing through both written and verbal communication how much he loves and cares about me. From what I know, he admires my loyalty, social skills, intelligence, and consistency in being affectionate and encouraging. We both have a strong moral compass, a desire to do what is right in the eyes of God, and though I know it isn’t typical for an ESFJ, I actually love debating and discussing big topics so that works really well for both of us. I can see how we could easily be incompatible if neither of us were willing to change but seeing that we are, we are able to balance each other: I am in a unique position to encourage him in his ambitions yet also let him know when an idea he has, though it may be good, isn’t necessarily the best for the life we want together. On the contrary, he has opened my eyes to want to achieve new heights I never dreamed of accomplishing before, and to be there to support him with his ambitions while also exploring new goals and opportunities we now have together.❤️ Not trying to say anything is incorrect about your point in general…only that with good communication, understanding, and a bit of self-sacrifice,(as with any strong relationship) any two people can fall in love and be happy together for the rest of their lives regardless of their personality type.😊
