they should have done experiment where the person would willingly suppress their decision to press when the internal urge came to press it.

Even now, the machine aka the "brain" and soul are independent concepts. You need something to interpret and give a subjective experience to the computations of the machine.

Shut up hag. You litteraly said "Khrushchev was killed" after the Hungarian revolt. Fucking absurd, this is so obviously fake history that you should be ashamed for putting it on the internet.

The problem with GM is not the normal well intentioned work of private and teaching hospital scientists trying to better the world and the health of humans; the problem reside in the big corporations like Monsanto who implement genetic changes and they suppress the real process involved, and their intentions. They also make sure no text book in school mentions it. Introducing pesticide particles inside the DNA of a plant to make it resistant to insects; for example, might have huge economic benefits to the multibillion accumulated wealth of that corporation but nothing to help farmers or hunger. Also, the fact they hide it means they know is not right. This scientist in this documentary should spend more time investigating this, and deepen into the reason why the farmers are committing suicide in those countries where is now obligatory to buy Monsanto seeds which do not yield new plants and the poor farmers need to find the money they don’t have in order to keep buying those seeds every year that supposedly protect the plants from insects the plants where already have shown to develop tolerance and because of this, on top of having to buy new seeds every year, now is required of them to buy their other pesticides due to the tolerance. Think about the effect to the human health of having those pesticides and insecticide molecules eaten by humans anytime they eat those products. The misinformation is not the conspiracy theories about Monsanto and the others, is the misinformation planted by those corporations into our media and even in textbooks. Find out!

Innovation in Soviet Union was actually enormous compared to most Western economies, furthermore whilst being sanctioned and artificially shut out from supplies by the West. I am struggling to think what innovation Australia came up with in the 20th C other than some of the university research which has nothing to do with markets, but nothing close to the innovation under the Soviet system. Most of the innovation in USA was likewise from the State sector (silicon chip design, Algol and C langages, just about every internet protocol, GPS, almost everything you find in your mobile phone had the difficult early innovative work conducted not in the private sector but the State sector). Soviet Union were in space ten years before the US could even imagine it being possible, etc. It is true that there were waits for products - so demand response latency was weakness, and could be solved - but there also was not the same ludicrous overproduction and energy placed towards marketing that we are presently trapped with.

Just got Prof Khlevniuk's book "Stalin: New Biography of a Dictator" (2018 Yale) and look forward very much to the study. The Q&A here seems targeted to kibosh Stalin nostalgia. This is understandable, but all people are nostalgic for their past if their past was more powerful than their present. All people know less about the facts than the historians. This is normal. For an outsider like myself, the thread that runs from Stalin to Hitler to Mao and others is, militarism. The Professor opens stating that Stalinism was the militarization of the whole nation and each individual, to defend it against threat. Where you find militarism you find violent social terror. Stalin simply stands as, as Stephen Kotkin puts it; "the gold standard" in socialized militarism.
