Set it to realistic difficulty, and the gameplay will take on a whole new vibe. :) That tank in the square literally watches you-even when you're behind a wall-and the moment you show even a pixel, it fires!

@@BucolicInsights So you didn't play on Realistic Normal difficulty, did you? Compared to Realistic, it's totally easy :) I streamed recently, and I can tell you that getting through a location with sniper towers on that difficulty is pure hell. You can barely even see the snipers, and you'll get headshot instantly. The only way to take one out is to wait for lightning to flash in the rain, revealing their position through the shadows. :)

Requiem: Avenging Angel is one of my favorite FPS and it deserves a reboot or remake, because it's already quite old, something like F.E.A.R. + ULTRAKILL but with an angel instead a human psychic or a robot in a futuristic era, prioritizing bullet-time/time warp but with other angelic powers as well. But it's not the first game to implement bullet-time, but Turok: Dinosaur Hunter in 1997, with power-ups and cheat that grant you bullet-time. But as a key-bound ability, Requiem: Avenging Angel is the first.
@BucolicInsightsАй бұрын
Hi, I replayed Turok "remastered" some years ago and, heck, I totally forgot about a power up that activates Bullet Time! I'm really surprised by this oversight... I think I should play it again in the next few months. What I've always loved about Turok are the bosses, in particular the giant mantyd and the cyber T-Rex. I've never played the sequels, tho.

I watched a playthrough of this game before Pristine Edition came out and will definitely pick it up soon, it's such a good experiment in storytelling and structure/visuals/voice acting. Could it be the case that visual novels need at least some horror in the mix to be good? I had dismissed visual novels entirely as cringy anime pornfests before I played Doki Doki Literature Club, and after enjoying it a lot I went on to play The House in Fata Morgana, which was also great. On the other hand, I quickly lost interest in Steins;Gate and especially in Clannad, which are two of the most well regarded visual novels of all time.

Perhaps I should have just said "bosses" or "particular enemies".

I'd do these steps for a remake: 1. review the music with a real orchestra 2. make the combat real time like a 3D fighting game 3. introduce some climbing best JRPG to date
@BucolicInsights3 ай бұрын
I would keep the turns and review the combo system to make it xenogears style perhaps, but I wouldn't mind it remaining the same. that is, I think that certain classics, rather than remakes, which cost TOO much and very few can afford, need simple remasters done well with some improvements. Mainly it's always a problem of game speed which can be solved with a fast forward function (the days of pompous and long animations, which at the time were a novelty that impressed young players, are no longer the case). that is, put it that way, you just need to know how to emulate them and even casual encounters can be tolerated. then the nice thing is to see how, with simple and limited means, the game was able to make the player feel involved in the storyline because these authors were full of passion and will to innovate.
@ludenspal7043 ай бұрын
@@BucolicInsights I think adding a modern combat system and some climbing would stay within the bounds of "some improvement". Unfortunately turn-based combat is outdated design, many are avoiding Atlus stuff like ReFantazio for that sole reason (even if they sped it up) and the devs definitely had fighting games in their mind.
