The Mahler 2 is perhaps the most musically satisfying symphony ever written. With a tradition solidly grounded with major European orchestras, it's initially, a little surprising to see this sea of definitely non-European faces. But the sound of the very first notes immediately reminds one that the world is much larger (thankfully) than revealed from such a narrow viewpoint, and these definitely non-European forces produce a resoundingly successful and rewarding performance that I suspect will to the top of my Mahler 2 list. I will be returning to this, more than once! Thank you. Thrillingly beautiful.

A fine performance of a beautiful symphony. The adagio was exquisite! Thank you all!

Hearing this song, Elgar's first symphony brings back high school, holding my child for the first time, my first kiss, learning to ride a bike, my first touchdown pass, the first time I saw the Grand Canyon, my first breakup, my child's first steps, the first time I saw the ocean, the first time I saw the Roman forum. This song is a timeless memory, a memory of all memories. This is the modern Pachelbel's Canon. When I got married I hadn't heard this song, but looking back over my life, that would have been the most appropriate time for this song. Actually, any special moment in your life is the perfect time for this song. I want it someday at my funeral right after Ave Maria., Elgar's first symphony is that good.

My first time watching an orchestra live and it had to be OMM with the legendary Mahler 2. Thank you so much for this magical experience and making this masterpiece come alive ❤

This is a gigantic choral symphony, but the chorus is practically inaudible. What a pity. There is much to like about this performance. 😎🎹

I get it. Schumann's concerto can bore one to death, no matter the interpreter. Maybe hearing her with Prokofiev or Tchaikovsky concerti?
@PM_ME_MESSIAEN_PICS2 ай бұрын
@@BurningSky9 nope, i was on the fourth floor, it's far away and the acoustics aren't well optimised for those seats, you can't hear all that much and for 83 bucks i can go for 3-5 other concerts, of course the other musicians aren't as good but some can be quite good
