They can have the best of both worlds - part of the UK, can be dual citizen and Uk and Irish (EU) passport holders, NHS, cheaper cost of living, live in a generally much more peaceful place now, politically represented. Some unionist politicians bemoaned the ceasefire as they could no longer excuse their own improper behaviour behind the hypothesis that the other side were worse than them. The healing requires a lot of generosity from both sides.

Yes Victorian industrial terraced streets of the troubles are now nearly all gone. Mills converted. This red brick terraced hinterland of Lower Falls, Lower Shankill, Sandy Row , old part of Ardoyne, Oldpark and Crumlin Roads etc. all now all gone. Go to Belfast quickly; you will see a fast changing New Lodge , Village, Middle Shankill, Short Strand etc. A few streets remain around the Woodvale district and middle Falls (Gaeltacht/ Beechmount) area. The inner suburbs of North Belfast around Lower Antrim Road, Lower Cliftonville Road and Newington retain the genuine feel and atmosphere of the times of the all too pervasive 'doorstep assasination'. The lower Newtonards Road also feels authetic troubles period.
