There are so many waterfalls around Ithaca, NY and I was there just after a few days of heavy rain, so things were spectacular even though there wasn't much sun. I recently posted a video from Murphy's Pinnacle. Great view and it was, in contrast, really quiet.😊

I totally agree! The upper trails are fantastic and I often see people running up there. I had to laugh when a friend who grew up in the area called the upper trails "the Serengeti". I immediately understood the reference. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

There was also some amazing coral bits there as well. Back from the volcanic rock and the light color is all old coral. Really amazing!

Yes! Thank you. I was so lucky to visit Akaka Falls. If you ever have the chance to go to Hilo, these are about 20 minutes up island. There is a wonderful look walk through the tropical scenery to and from the falls.

I love coming here for a quick walk when visiting my mom. This is about an hour out of Toronto - and GREAT because it is one of the few places around Toronto that isn't packed with others in the summer. This particular night I took my mom with me.

I agree! So great that you were able to do that trip! For my part, since I'm just doing these walks, I often don't go to the canal because I need to double back to get back to the car - I prefer a loop. So this is the solution. This trail is a side trail off the canal into Fayetteville NY. What I do is park my car at the Fayetteville Town Center, then walk (not the best walk) to the entrance off N. Burdick St., and walk toward Fayetteville. Eventually (about 15 minutes) you see the side trail to your right. I then follow that into Fayetteville. You come out of the trail in town next to "Freedom of Espresso". Great to pick up a treat! Then I head back to my car.
