What if my hair is black on the ends and my roots are light brown and gray? My hair has been changing like in it's own because my gray s coming in. 😞

As a master colorist, you’re trashing your hair. Youre soaking it in alkaline, melting hair, type color. You won’t believe me until you start going to a professional like me and have grown out that mess and had it cut off. You may think u have the look, but that shit is porous, fried, and laced to the side, just from looking at it. And will always look yellooowww if u keep doing what u do.

Your color before; Quick question, what would i(someone) use to get a grey but without all the black dark like your longer stands have. I want someone to to go all white/grey. Their hair started how yours looked. All natural. White Coming out at roots quite a length down and her hair yellow from being blonde all her life. I just want her to finally go one color and embrace her greying hair and beauty.

You did a great job but you did permanently color your virgin hair that you worked hard on saving. That will continue to to look gold if you hit it with that solution, will help you negotiate that if you need help, ex Hollywood hairdresser

Your hair looks absolutely gorgeous I am on natural redhead and I'm trying to let my gray hair grow out but I read that red doesn't gray to a silver gray it fades to blonde and then to white so the back is still dark although it's more brown than the auburn that I had when I was younger so I'm thinking about doing this to my hair

I am a natural brunette and have been grey for years, but just on my crown. In 2020 I decided to go all grey but slowly, so my hairdresser started the process of bleaching my hair - to the point that I was blond and I hated it, I'm a brunette after all, and when I looked in the mirror all I saw was orange hair (when I see pictures I don't even know it is me because it was a beautiful blond color). I hated the blond so much that I decided in March of 2023 to stop coloring my hair and just go grey naturally. Almost 6 months later, I have about 3 inches of new growth and it is black and grey, and I love it. I recently asked my hairdresser if there was anything that could be done to get rid of these blond ends (after I cut 3 inches off at my appointment and an inch at the prior appointment). She actually told me no, I'm super bummed that she said this since I have been doing research for the past 6 months and knew that I could. Before bleaching my hair, I colored it myself using Wella products. This video has inspired me to do it again. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out!

I just did this. It turned out amazing. Ok maybe a couple blotches but that was my application that failed. It’s really going to be a game changer for growing out my gray hair. So happy. I am so grateful you made this video. ❤

I have gray at the roots. Have dyed blonde and brown for years, but not for a few months - trying to let the gray take over more. I tried this combination and my hair turned out a light, gentle YELLOW. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

This is so helpful because my blonde roots are going very silver, and I'm growing out bleached midlengths, so it was great to see the color transformation on hair similar to mine. Plus you have the same eye color and skin coloring as I do, so very very helpful - thank you! I'd love to see how the growout is going/how it went!

If you use 20 developer though on your natural roots it will lighten them and they will no longer be the natural gray, right? My stylist said she doesn’t touch the roots with toner because it will fade the natural hair that’s not gray to an orange color

Hairstylist of 34 years here. Nice colour but, you will NEVER grow your grey out and be able to stop colouring because you’re using 20 volume. 20 volume is lightening the natural pigment of your hair. So when the toner washes off, you’re left with a level 10 warm blonde. Find a demi or semi permanent colour to tone your hair, as it has a low volume developer, anywhere from 4-10 volume, and it will not lighten your natural hair.

You did a great job and it looks really nice on you. I have to say that in addition to looking great with the more violet/grey hair, I think it looked great with the blinds at the tips of your hair too. It really wasn't that big of a transition, or at least on video it didn't look like it. Either way, you're a lovely woman!!!

How come, you used a 20 as opposed to a 10 volume , by the way, I absolutely love the results and I want to do this and do you have to use two bottles of 050 or it’s just because you have a lot of hair

This really was helpful. My youthful natural color was a caramel, now going grey, and it’s brassy and yellow. This might just work. Everyone including me says “ I want it to look natural “ Heck no I don’t, I want it to look glossy and vibrant.
