Have you noticed that when Travolta talks about $cientology he takes on the mannerisms of L Ron Hubbard.

I would ask the playwright/director why nothing was said in the film about the boy's undershirt the priest left in the boy's locker (which made the nun suspect him).

He looks awesome ;Happy and young° wish he could do.one as a indian chief
At that time he was hoping for more space and room to breathe. And then the opposite happened. So sad. There is a lot of information about BPD and other cluster B personality disorders and the people who survive these relationships and get out take time to heal. I wish him a full recovery and happiness again.

Loved this Movie. I found the name of the Principal, Sister Aloysius interesting as the name meant "Celebrated Warrior" or "famous in War". She certainly embodied that name. I had little doubt while watching the Film as I was "certain" that Father Flynn was inappropriate with his Student and had a past. There were little "clues" revealed here & there - one being when Father suggested to the 2 Nuns that the Church should be more familial and further reaching. Priests often made entry into Families & would find immediate trust. They often found a grateful Parent, usually a Mother, if a broken Home. Grateful that her Child had a Male Role Model to fill the void and what could be more special than it being a Priest? So Father Flynn seemed to indicate that his form of "special attention" was more in line with what Sister Aloysius felt so "certain" about.

I find it very hard to believe that she would have said the n-word so openly in the presence of two black people and not be fearing the repurcussions behind it. Usually racists say things like that only in the presence of their own race. Not saying that it never happens but it's highly unlikely. And when I say repercussions, I'm referring to either being exposed as a racist and fired, or receive a severe asswhuppin.

I was thrilled to see Matt & Ben get an Oscar for this movie. They were up against Titanic & As good as it gets. Three power house movies for that year. Great accomplishment.

Always wondered the reason the for the paintings subject. Could it have been subconsciously Popeye? 1st scene of Robin Williams in a film.

One of the finest films ever made. But this discussion hardly touches upon the principal subject matter: the abuse of innocents by our institutions and their agents - especially the Roman Catholic Church.

If anyone has not seen this movie, they must. Streep was robed not getting the Oscar for this. The acting performances were brilliant in this movie. Phillip Seymour Hoffman had so many more great performances ahead of him. A great loss. RIP.

The whole "its too intelligent" thing really seems to have taken over the world and movies these days. For all the intelligence and technology we really seem dumber for it
