John Ridgway is a great artist, perfect for this. He was also a great bloke to talk to when i worked i nBolton and he'd stop in the shop i worked in. Very nice man.

I can see the spin you're putting on this here with the 'Pro-Democracy Terrorist" thing. Democracy is evil, unironically - it's mob rule, it's 5 people voting to rape 1 person and one person voting not to get raped, it's extreme Statism and therefore Socialism. It's hilarious that you're meant to think "Hmm, a Pro-Democracy Terrorist? What a topsy-turvy, on-it's-head world this fiction is portraying, where good is seen as bad!" Whereas, in actual fact, modern day, it's just reflecting reality as it really is. In that way it's been very prescient.

I'm 50 years old. Got into 2000ad when I was 8. Read them all through my teens but have not read one since . Really wish I had kept my progs and kept up. Would love to grab hold of a chopper collection if such a thing exists. Still can't believe there has been no TV or movie releases. The duncan Jones rogue trooper movie seems all quiet .

Ive been a huge fan of 2000AD for decades now, first read it in about 83/4 when I was 6/7yrs, Judge Death scared the beejezus out of me but Rogue Trooper and Strontium Dog and Thargs future shocks were amazing. I remember HookJaw but I must have had the graphic novel as I didnt realise (or didn't back then) its was 2000ad.So many stories that would make immense movies but Hollywood ain't ready for that kind of intellect from its scifi fans. I mean Dredd(karl Urban) was pretty dope but they're still nowhere neat capturing the real John Dredd. Maybe one day we'll get PSI division or even Judge Death on the big screen. Thanks guys for years of entertainment and scares and I really do believe you guys switched my head on at an early age with some of the themes, plot twists and general mayhem of your comics. 💯💙

Good morning from San Diego California. We have a lot of white sharks from here to past Malibu. Luckily, attacks here are rare due to most of the sharks being pups and mellowed mums. We have had the odd, rogue fatality though... Hook Jaw or Son of Hook Jaw? Hook Jaw and Cousteau started me on a lifelong fascination with all sharks especially white sharks. Thank you for your creation and this interview.

Scream could have probably stood alongside 2000ad if it had survived. I have some of the originals but couldn't be bothered to compete on eBay for the rest so I got the compilation. You can see the loss of quality that could have been.

Scream was well after the Wertham panic but it was the time of Mary Whitehouse and Action had received flak over graphic gore so there was definitely an atmosphere at the time where you felt lke publishers of comics aimed at kids had to be careful.

I'm glad that he also mentioned Absalom when talking about Caballistics INC, Absalom is a great series. Harry Absalom is pretty much Jackson Lamb from Slow Horses, they even look similar (I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the writer of the Slow Horses books and the creators of show were inspired by Absalom).

My first 2000ad I read was about 1986/87, I was around 13 or 14 yrs old in the UK. Before that I read the Beano and Dandy on the weekly but as a young teenager I was drawn to 2000ad and the first character I can distinctively remember reading was Rogue Trooper. Then, it was a rollercoaster from there. Nemesis, Halo Jones, ABC, Slaiñe, Zenith, Copper, Judge Anderson, Finn, Bad Company, Durham Red and ABC Trucking Co, I was hooked and not only did I buy the weekly's the monthly's, then Judge Dredd Magazine, I then went backwards and brought up the back issues to all the way back to the 1st and 2nd issue's. I have lived and worked all over the world and I still have them all in big boxes. I even purchased the Judge Dredd picture single by Anthrax, which I still have. However years of travel and I got disconnected from reading the galaxies greatest comic and not read any in years, I have tried but I just can't fall back in love with reading but I do have fond memories of me as a young teen reading in my old 80s/90s bedroom that I grew up in.

Hi I've never read 2000AD but I'm interested in reading some of the Future Shock stories - I understand these are self contained short stories? Are the Future Shocks reprinted in the "Best Of" volumes?

I second Strontium Dog. Obviously the stories of Johnny and Wulf are great but, I love when Durham Red gets a solo story. I'm holding out hope that the Strontium Dogs will one day get an official live action or animated film. A few of my other favourites are Absalom, Sinister Dexter and Survival Geeks. Oh, and it is usually a treat whenever Tharg blesses us with a future shock.

Sinister Dexter is my all time favorite strip. I loved Vector 13 as a kid and having either as a starter outside of Dredd I think really shows how mature and varied 2000AD has always been. Feral and Foe I have enjoyed very much upon my return to the 2000AD world

My God a Yank spreading the good word , Borag thungg my kind of girl ❤❤, I have been trying to get my fav American comic site to cover 2000 AD, SD was a Starlord Strip first both. But 👏👏both loved it . Flesh, Sam Slade, Ro busters/ABC Warriors ,Bad Company never get the dues owed not to mention Mean Arena + the tie in with Giant and Judge Giant , every one raves about Halo Jones or Dante but to the youth it was above us. Then I was 11 but Nemesis still now stands out . Thank you both 👏👏much love.
