You made it WAY more complicated than it has to be. Just take the lace from the bottom eyelet all the way up to the very top eyelet, and just use the other side of the lace to create the bars.

@@dang2443 Oh, I see what you mean. Interesting, I've never seen anyone do it that way before. I'll have to try to see if 1) The lace length will be enough 2) if it'll be easy to tighten and loosen up. Thanks for the comment/tip!

I’m a little over 5’9”! They’re pretty comfy but a little heavy. Not too hard to walk in but I haven’t been getting too much use out of them because I usually carry my young son when we’re out and about. Wish I had the opportunity to wear them out more often!

Sorry for the late reply with this! If your feet are VERY wide, you might be able to size up. Otherwise, true to size is what I’d do.

Mine lasted 5 years w max care. Nothin like vintage docs. Those last decades. Moving on. These cracked, the soles wore down, and there is no midsole bed.

Thank you for the information. I size up as I have a wide foot. I am a 7.5 wide in woman’s shoes. I try to get mens shoes because men’s feet are wider and doc martens make them comfortable. The make women’s shoes narrow. But your information was quite helpful. I get men’s 6or a 38 sometimes 38.5. I hope that makes sense.

Hey! Thank you for the vid, it was very informative! Im not sure if i should size up or down. I got jadon platform boots in a size 8 about 3yrs ago and i think theyre too big, i got these shoes, with little hearts on the eyelets and around the rim of the sole, in a size 7 and i think they fit abit better. I want to get some 1460 leather lace up boots and im not sure whether i should get a 7 or 8? Im between a 7 & 8 in my converse too! I was told the boots run smaller than shoes but im not sure how true that is!

@@indigo4753 I answered this in a short Q and A I did a while back. In short, lace code never existed in most of the world. And in places that it did, it's no longer followed for the most part. If you're in a circle that follows it, good on you. But for most of the world, it doesn't matter. Go wear what you want to 🫡

From my experience, it’s easier to have this for higher boots because of how hard it is to get your foot in the boot if you don’t unlace them. I can fully unlace and re-lace the boots much quicker if I have to. I feel like I can also get them a little tighter lacing them like this.
