They say the young players of today are above his level technique wise. I say BS! Segovia was and will always be the grand master

I enjoy playing this Prelude myself in similar style This is not a piece that needs to follow a time signature. It requires expression and emotion.

I really love his right hand, which magically created different kinds of sound and all the songs played by maestro like an orchestra

I am just practicing this wonderful D-minor by S. L. Weiss with my lute teacher. I am learning a lot from this exemplary performance by Darco Karajic. It doesn't look like it was posted 13 years ago. Thank you. Paul

It's unfortunate we don't have more recordings of Segovia in his earlier years like this one. Many of the ones available are when he was up in age and his technical facility had diminished. Fantastic recording

I am always struck with the great precision and lack of excess movement in his hands. I have always loved this carol from the first moment I heard it I wanted to play it. For guitarist who are still learning I have included simpler version without the drop D tuning here kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6XcZaaLmLCpm7s

It's the variety of his dotting; under-dotting, over-dotting, every-which-way dotting that keeps this so fresh, natural and beautiful. Segovia really had a thorough understanding of techniques that smoothed out his renditions - this, in particular (the dotting) is so elegant and majestic. His life-long dedication was what the guitar world needed and got from dear Andres Segovia !

What a wonderful performance. Thank you so very much for your playing! As a violinist I feel like it sounds so much better on the guitar, way more logical. The voicing is clearer and so does the harmony. Thank you wholeheartedly for this video! Greetings from Israel!

I love Segovia as much as the next guy, but I honestly don't like this interpretation at all. The bassline and the melody aren't smooth at all, and the phrasing is all over the place to the point where it almost sounds improvised (in a bad way)...
