What is the longest chain of consecutive relay nodes allowed or possible? Also, the claim for many years of battery life is a bit hard to grasp in the case of nodes acting as relay or sink nodes because these devices apparently will be always active and trafficking data back and forth. So is this claim still valid for these nodes?

I have connected a custom board that has nrf9160 chip with FDTI cable. Through serial monitors I am able to transmit AT commands. Means the board connects and works But at VS code when I follow this tutorial after building it shows "No Device found" in the Connected Devices.
@NordicSemi20 күн бұрын
Flashing is done through J-Link or some other SWD interface, not UART directly in VS Code. Either use an external J-link for this or the external debug output of any nRF91 Series DK connected to your custom board. We recommend that you make a DevZone ticket to reach out directly to our tech support team for more information: devzone.nordicsemi.com/

Could you recommend any posts or tutorials on phase calibration that Nordic particularly suggests? In other words, how should I use the reference samples? I've come across a variety of phase calibration schemes, but none of them detail the use of reference samples. I'm sorry I'm new to this, so finding information that's useful to me is a bit challenging...Thanks !

Hello I'm having issues with Visual Studio Code and the nrf SDK. I followed your tutorial as instructed and installed the application as administrator on both windows 10 and 11 (and insatalled the nordic SDK software and command line tools and j-link drivers (just like your videos). I installed the toolchain and a matching sdk (i tried v2.5.1 and v2.6.1) then successfully made a build configuration for my nRF52840 DK I made sure to keep the install paths close to the root directory But VS code does not recognize my board. Under connected devices it detects a connected device with numbers like "10040086720" but does not say "nRF52840 DK" like yours does. I cannot flash the application with errors saying: "ERROR: No debuggers were discovered. NOTE: For additional output, try running again with logging enabled (--log). NOTE: Any generated log error messages will be displayed. FATAL ERROR: command exited with status 41: nrfjprog --program 'c: ordic\projects\blinky_pwm\build\zephyr\zephyr.hex' --chiperase --verify -f NRF52 --snr 1050203242" Please help I need this project to work its very important and there is ZERO help anywhere for this.

Nothing exciting. We have been using keil to develop most of our products for many years, but now it does not support the keil compiler. For the sake of product stability, we do not plan to ask engineers to re-analyze other development tools, which will add additional costs. Our risk and cost. We plan to use other chips for the next product. We are very disappointed with nrf connect sdk.

Thank you for your feedback. If you have ongoing projects using nRF5 SDK it is indeed the best approach to stay in that environment. But for new designs we highly recommend nRF Connect SDK which brings a modern approach to embedded IoT development, including the advanced capabilities of nRF Connect for VSCode the preferred IDE. Keep in mind that looking for alternative chip vendors implies migrating to a new SDK as well, and we at Nordic have unmatched free educational material in the Developer Academy to help you get started as quickly as possible: academy.nordicsemi.com/

Hi, ANT support is provided through a private repository due to licensing. You need to request access through www.thisisant.com/developer/ant/nrf-connect-sdk/ and follow the instructions in the linked documentation to enable ANT in your SDK.

My company was looking for a highly integrated LTE module with built-in GPS, and nRF9160 met the requirements. Until they realized it runs on zephyr, and no one in the company worked with Zephyr before. It was canceled, still looking for an alternative with a built-in application processor.

You do not need to use Zephyr, but using the nRF Connect SDK will make it easier. It is no problem if no one in the company have worked with Zephyr before, we offer free courses to get you started. Can this be done with a higher frequency to achieve greater accuracy? Also, can it be adapted to operate with 2 "base units" to calculate a 2-D position or 3 units to compute a 3-D position?
@NordicSemi2 ай бұрын
As we do not talk about frequency in the video, we are not sure what you wondering. Could you please clarify? It is possible to triangulate a location in 2D or 3D space by combining readings from multiple NDT pairs, yes, but please note we do not provide the algorithms or code for doing the triangulation itself.

Hello Fabio, streaming camera use case may be too heavy when using LTE-M as the uplink is around 375kbps; you may need to look into higher technology categories in LTE. However, if you do not require LTE there is possible to do camera streaming over Wi-Fi we have a reference samples for that: github.com/NordicPlayground/nrf70-wifi-ble-image-transfer-demo
