Time stamp 0:49 reminds me of a CZC football picnic at Summit, probably in '78, which among other things featured your nicely repainted F-150 with its nice custom sound system (which you had to run on idle to recharge the battery after an hour or so of music.) :) Great video, thanks for posting.

In the past you could spend the day out there ,with pretty much the entire place to yourself.

I was stationed in Panama at Howard AFB from 1994-1999. I initially stayed on Albrook Air Station. I met and fell in love with the Love of my Life on Albrook. We were both active duty USAF. 12:54 We got married and had two children in Panama. My Love recently passed away in March 2022 from Brain cancer. These videos provide great memories of the love that we shared until death did we part. I’m returning to Panama soon to walk these streets and bask in the memories. I feel that it will help me with my grief. Thanks so much for these videos.

Thank you for sharing, amazingly I still managed to pick out some places that were there in 1967 when I left. One was the old PanAm building that was nothing but a burned out hulk when I left. It is at 1:20 on the video just past overhead walk and of course the hangers on base on what I think was the commissary on the left. Again, thank you. I see one thing hanse't changed, the people still have no regard for life or limb while driving. The old Ancon Inn was on the left just before you go through the underpass after going past the old PanAm building.

I remember the bridge. Only 1 lane in 1972. I remember going through Gamboa. I just don’t remember the rest of the drive to Cerro Tigre to pick up ammo.

Love these memories you put out here for us old GIs. I was stationed at Howard but lived at Albrook twice. 80-83 and 85-89. Amazing to see all the new structures and renovations all along the route you took. I pray I'll be able to travel back to Panama someday soon to see it for myself. Thanks...

Charles, do you have a non speeded up version of this for us Albrook kids?
@clcarteret2 жыл бұрын
Bourbon497, Quick answer is No. But, you can see this video almost at normal speed by using the Playback Speed to .5 or 50%. You get to this option by clicking on the Setting Wheel and then Playback Speed. Obviously, it affects the sound, slows the tempo.

Wow! This is a throwback. I was stationed at Howard/Albrook 1980-83 and this video passed right by my first on-base house, 254B. The Albrook Club was right up the hill. I appreciate the update on what it looks like today. Loved my time in Panama...
