What a truly wonderful band. Silverhead were my first live band to see at Birmingham Town Hall supporting Nazareth in 1973. WONDERFUL memories that i still remember to this day. So sad that they never finished the 3rd album.

Thought he was a good replacement for Robert Palmer in the Power Station, but IMO the best thing Des Barres ever did was act as a foil to Richard Dean Anderson's Macgyver in the role of Murdoc. As a kid I liked all the episodes, but the best ones were the ones that featured Des Barres gleefully going after the titular hero.

Mr. Des Barres: I was really very *SCARED* to write this because of how it *MIGHT* look and also because of just *WHAT* you have actually meant to me over the years, so let me try to explain.... I know that this sounds so *CHEESY* for you to hear, but you actually *SAVED* my life. Let me start off by telling you that I've been watching you since you were on *MacGyver* in the 1980s and your role of *Murdoc* has been so *PIVOTAL* in getting me through a lot of my *EMOTIONAL* crap. There was even a time when I was *SUICIDAL* and thinking that the world would be better off without me, put your piano playing in *Cleo Rocks* was so soulful/heartbreaking that for the first time in a long while, I actually felt what it was to be *LOVED* by somebody. It's taken me a lot of years to get where I am now, but I still watch/listen to you with devotion/admiration. I just wanted to say *THANK YOU* for being there when nobody else was and thank you for showing me that I actually *MATTERED* to someone!!! ~ Kelly 👲💖

Sounds interesting. Michael Des Barres was great on that episode of Alf! Even though, once again, he was playing an unsavory character. Which he did so well on MacGyver as Murdoc. His presence is always memorable. Like in the 'smelly car' Seinfeld episode. Even his few seconds of screen time in Under Siege was a classic performance in my opinion. So way to go Michael Des Barres. And Murdoc! Way to get original Tom Servo to direct your Documentary! Can't wait to see it!

Most of my children's growing up was shot on Super 8 film. If I had known how tech would have been in the 2000s, I would have recorded the sound on a cassette recorder and then edited it together on my computer in the present day, but who would have known the direction of tech in the seventies?

The guitarist was a close friend of Bowie in 1967 in the band The Riot Squad. This is real Glam Rock, not the farce when called EVERYTHING GLAM. Mud? Rubettes? 10cc? David Essex? NO! This is glam rock!

Why the hell is this coming up in my youtube recommendations? This is horrible, sounds like they guy from The Cult drank paintstripper, aged 50 years and then had a stroke due to vascular dementia. Bonus, the music is very boring too.

I was a dj at u of Iowa radio station in the mid 70s when got turned onto this band. But later the bass player Nigel Harrison was in Ray Manzarek's Night City who I met backstage with Ray Manzarek and the rest of the band. I spent about 30 minutes chatting with the band. And got high with Ray Manzarek. I loved him and the doors . Later Nigel played with Blondie.
