At some point during the run, Johnny Gilbert announced how many words were in each headline. This is from earlier in the run since he doesn't announce that. WCAU in Philly dropped the show after five weeks of airing it at 7:30PM EST on 10/11/1985, replaced by $100K Pyramid

This show is in the SOny library and one episode aired on GSN circa 2000, as the Merv Griffin library of shows is owned by Sony, as Merv and Wink' companies collaborated on the production of this show. This would be from a rerun from earlier in the 1985-86 season. Ryan's Hope aired at Noon EST./11 CST at the time on ABC. I wonder if this station aired Headline Chasers instead of Loving or the short-lived ABC game show of this era, Double Talk

Very interesting. I actually have two copies of this tape. First being an original 1989 pressing. (It had very bad tape rot and was extremely unplayable when I first got it, but I managed to fix the damage and now it plays fine). Basically everything on that is the same as your tape, except You’re a Sap Mr. Jap and Seein’ Red White N Blue don’t have the stereoptical process (Fleischer era) Paramount logo tacked on at the beginning and end, and instead have the AAP titles on the former cartoon blacked out with the soundtrack still playing. Meanwhile the latter just starts out at the AAP Popeye title card, and keeps the AAP closing. The second copy I have is a 1993 reprint, which has a couple of changes added to the prints they used. - Rookie Revue keeps the end title, albeit it’s that “THE END” title used in the Betty Boop, Krazy Kat, and R&TVP redrawns back in the 70’s under Fred Ladd’s Color Systems Inc. (I’m sure you already know this, but those are commonly on those Cartoons R Fun tapes, although those PD video edits were made several years before CRF appearing on other fly-by-night public domain videos. CRF was infamously known for having them) - You’re a Sap Mr. Jap has the AAP opening intact, but the closing is still blacked out. - that very muddy faded 16mm print transfer of Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips is replaced with the 80’s Turner Broadcast Master seen on the GOALT Vol. 1 VHS (Vol. 7) and Laserdisc releases before getting recalled and replaced with Racketeer Rabbit on later pressings. - Blitz Wolf is the same situation as BBNTN, old faded 16mm telecine transfer replaced with 80’s TV/VHS/Laserdisc master without Technicolor and Wartime references blacked out. - Tokio Jokio is replaced with Confusions of a Nutzy Spy, also a 16mm Sunset/Guild print transfer. Opening is missing, but has the Technicolor Porky in Drum in Black and White spliced in at the end. - Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs is the same as this tape but it has the AAP opening intact. - A small clip of Daffy The Commando is seen at the end followed by end title created by the company that made this tape. THE END©️1993 YO HO VIDEO. Followed by the ending soundtrack of The Fifth Column Mouse playing in a black background. “🎵We did it before! We did it agaaaain!🎵 We Dood It!” Playing. - and just when thought to be over, there’s a bonus uncredited cartoon at the end. That being Der Fuehrer’s Face.
