I am familiar with 'Artillery Hill', having known the owner of the estate in the 1940s. It was a 600 acre property with greenhouses, italian gardeners, bridal trails. and a very exceptional mansion house of exquisite detailing. The interstate highway decimated the property in 1959 leaving the grand house, but even though it was documented by HABS, it was also razed sometime in the 1980s. the catalog of lost HABS buildings in NJ in the 1960s is only equalled by the destruction of Round Valley and Spruce Run reservoirs. I would suggest an effort to commemorate General Knox's Artillery Hill with photographs of the now lost estate.
